Saturday: woke up to John crying for his morning treats and shower-water. I was still wiped out from last night, so after treating the cats, I crashed in the office bed for another couple of hours. Julie eventually roused me so we could pick up the car from a dealership on the southwest side of town. Lyft proved the more affordable service again, and after getting cleaned up and dressed for the weather, we started our errands. We hadn't asked for the detached bumper panel to be fixed, but they threw that service in along with the replacement of the recalled engine component. I tried to drive us to Taco Bell, but Oregon turned out to be backed up while the roads crew used an excavator to scoop frozen snowdrifts into a dump truck for removal. Our route ended up pretty circuitous, but we were eventually able to eat and go shopping. I'm still going to make the vegetable pasta tonight that we already had on-hand, so our shopping bill was pretty light. On our way back from PetSmart, another closure on Tasker caused by a blocked truck meant we had to park further from home than we would have liked. Still, it wasn't too long before we'd unloaded everything and started on our afternoon chores. I've already taken care of the litter, and I'm about to vacuum, but Julie wanted me to check whether the new monitor adapter we bought at Best Buy will work for restoring dual monitor functionality. So far it hasn't, but I'm installing a Windows update to see what more I can accomplish while I write this entry. Projection for the rest of the evening: start a load of laundry, do the vacuuming, make the vegetable pasta for dinner, watch more Bob while we eat, and do a little Animal Crossing: New Horizons before bed. Possibly some UmaMusume as well.
And now, with the benefit of hindsight, I can confirm that my predictions were entirely accurate. Julie tented with John in the office while listening to her audiobook the entire time I was cooking dinner. The feta came out of the roaster a little burned, but it was all the better for it; I just wish we had snow peas instead of the entire pods. The two Bob's Burgers episodes we watched were decent. During AC:NH, I made my fourth hotel room (dreamy style), then went to the archipelago to make vacation homes for Mineru and Bianca. That was my tenth constructed home, so they threw a little party in the office. I soon went to bed, where I started in on the new UmaMusume events.
Friday: I had my usual call with David after my shift ended. For dinner, we had more of the goulash. I watched a guy watch Metal Gear Solid 3 cutscenes while I ate, and while I played a bit of FFXI, my big accomplishment for the day was to write a lengthy recounting of my recent progress in the game. I got right back in and continued playing afterwards, though.
Wednesday: a great workday! I love getting to focus on my projects, and I spent pretty much the entire day just working on them. Julie'd been dealing with a headache, and by the time I got out of work, she was already asleep in the bedroom. Based on John's insistence I come out to the living room, I promptly fell asleep in the egg chair for a few hours. Since Julie finished the last of the goulash for lunch, we started in on the cabbage patch soup once we both woke up. I got too invested in a Shadowbringers LP and didn't get much done from a productivity or gameplay perspective, other than just a little bit of Hearthstone before the seasonal reset.
Oh yeah, almost forgot the most important part: I didn't go to bed until after, like, 2:45 AM! This is hours later than I've done in weeks! It's a huge step backwards; I'm pretty aggravated with myself right now!
Tuesday: at 4:00 AM, I woke up on the living room floor. John had fallen asleep in the crook of my arm last night, and rather than disturb him, I decided to wait it out, and sleep caught up before I noticed. I went back to bed in the bedroom. I work up again around 10:30 to discover that Julie was feeling under the weather and was working from home as a result. I had cereal for brunch and caught up on my mobile games. After work, she still wasn't feeling up for a trip to the gym, so we ordered pizza from the place on the corner and watched our respective youtube channels.

I finished Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP with one missing achievement, but this was the last time I'd play it before uninstalling. I remember being really frustrated by the platforms they launched on due to their commitment to iPad interface trickery. Still, a very evocative game. I still listened to the soundtrack in my car in 2021 and 2022.
Thursday: thanks to his desperate attempts to catch his own tale, Julie uploaded a photo of John Doe to facebook today. It doesn't do justice to the gyrations he undertakes while flopped on top of the cat tower.

Sunday: circumstances required that we bring several of our cats to my parents' house. They managed to get a little bit of affectionate time with Frank, but Koop managed to slash them pretty badly.
