Thursday: barely making headway on my groups at work. Julie's bocce league games were canceled due to the rain, so after I finished eating dinner in the office (and playing a little Blue Prince, I think), I went to the living room and logged into Tears of the Kingdom at her recommendation. (I tried to progress the main plot, but instead of finding my way to the "crisis at the castle" quest marker, it turned out I was approaching the game's ultimate challenges in the depths, which explains why I was getting clobbered by one overpowered enemy after another. Once I realized that I should try to descend onto the castle from above rather than use the Ascend power from below, things got a lot easier.)
Wednesday: couldn't get my head into any real work for Moondrop Isle before my shift today, so I just caught up briefly on Hearthstone and MoP Remix with the time I had. My work shift involved a lot of calls from people about to depart on their cruises. I'm expecting volume to increase in the next week due to the approach of Memorial Day, and I'm not looking forward to it. This was the first time in the season I felt like the apartment was getting too warm, so I've had my little desk fan out to deal with the heat. During my lunch break, something about the breeze from the window brought to mind the squirt gun fights of childhood. In my afternoon briefing, I was recognized as one of the people whose QA scores are exceeding the departmental goal to obtain our incentive. The calls were back-to-back right up until the end of my shift, but at least it was my Friday.
After Julie took a shower, we elected to have me finish the goulash, while she'd have popcorn for dinner. (She loves doing this; I find the idea horrifying.) We took a break from Poirot to rewatch the first season of Trailer Park Boys. Once I started to fall asleep, Julie told me to go to bed.
IS THE COUGH STILL HERE? YES, but not as bad as yesterday.

Monday: we had a vet appointment for the cats, but we couldn't get John cornered in time, so we took Mim and Pigs instead. I drove us down and dropped Julie off before finding a place to park the car, and I just sat in the car on my phone until they were ready to be picked up. After bringing them back home, I walked to the store to pick up salad and French onion dip. Work was pretty annoying, but I took some time to catch up on internet stuff afterwards.

Tuesday: tried to do karaoke at XY Bar. I often get a bit of analysis paralysis when confronted with a menu, and the music selection here was no different; it felt like I was scouring the list of available songs for half an hour. When it was finally my turn to sing, I stood up at the microphone, and the first line of lyrics appeared. I was expecting it to change color the way it had for all the previous singers, but it turns out that subtitling on the song I'd selected didn't have karaoke-style beat syncronization, which wasn't obvious to me until the first line of lyrics was replaced with the second line. To add insult to injury, I soon discovered that I didn't know the song as well as I thought I did, and even though Julie joined me at the mic to try to help me through the performance, this was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life. I'm fine with the idea of public speaking or reading aloud, but I think karaoke might be ruined for me. Even seven years later, this is getting me kind of upset.

Thursday: continuing our Michigan trip. Went to Oval Beach so that I could experience Lake Michigan. (It was just a little too cold to appreciate.) Before we left Saugatuck, we lunch at the Butler. After getting back to Livonia, we had dinner at Buddy's Pizzeria; this is the place with the gigantic serving of antipasto. Afterwards, we went to Stables with Chris and Ciavattone.
