Wednesday: it's my Friday as usual, but it's the conclusion of my first week of splitting my shift between projects and calls. A big chunk of my project time went to the weekly briefing, so I didn't try to start the new week's reworks yet. All of Julie's coworkers who went to Kentucky took an extra day off, but Julie'd saved hers for today, as she was going to a baseball game. Since I was on my own, I napped with Mim and the other cats in the living room after my shift ended. Once I woke up, I had more of the curry and rice for dinner, and while I had this Ace Attorney stream playing on the other monitor, I started the process of cleaning out my quest log and otherwise prepping my FFXIV character for Dawntrail. (Mostly, this meant finally getting into the first part of Bozja and getting a Wondrous Tails journal filled out in advance.) I also copied a bunch of website updates from old facebook events, but I got a little carried away because I stayed up way, way too late, before finally crashing in the office.
Monday: stayed up way too late again, but I managed to get up around an hour ahead of work to make sure that both Julie and I were hitting our targets in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. I don't talk about it much, but it's a game we've both been playing on at least a daily basis (if not more frequently, mostly in Julie's case) for more than five years. A new gyroid event just started, and these are the events I struggle with the most, because I don't log in frequently enough or wander around to enough locations to collect as many gyroids as I need to craft all the event items. I managed to start the event well, but it's now nearly 3 AM on the 20th and I haven't logged in again since this afternoon.
Anyway, the workday itself was pretty nice. I'm still well caught up from last week, and we actually had gaps in the call volume! On a Monday! On the downside, my wrists were hurting again, so I wore my braces some more. Still kind of listless with my usual streams, so today I watched a video rivew of the board game Treasure Island and the start of a playthrough of that new Mask of the Rose I played a couple weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to get back to it myself, though.
Phil came by for a while to check on Cliff before he and Julie went to their Quizzo trivia night. Julie got back right about the same time that I was clocking out of work after one of my agents had a connection problem. I had salad for dinner, and afterwards I cleaned out the litterboxes and started a load of laundry. I played with the cats a bit, and John was not satisfied with just the treats he usually gets, so for once he got up the gumption to walk past the closed bedroom door into the kitchen so I'd give him a little bit of mayo. Since we've had the cat carriers out so much, he's been quite content to sleep inside them lately.
Anyway, it was around this time (1:00 AM or so) that I saw FFXIV subreddit posts were appearing on reddit again after the blackout. Couldn't log in due to maintenance, and then I realized that I'd forgotten about my free company's watch party for pook's episode of Preserving Worlds, which premiered tonight. Seems appropriate somehow, since I missed out being part of the episode myself last summer. I've been sitting here trying to figure out why I feel so bad about this, considering I saw the big news thingy in discord the other day, and I think it has something to do with my antipathy toward discord events. I don't like discord. I feel obligated to use it, but I'm not comfortable with it, and I joined too many discords, but I can't bring myself to quit any of them. And somehow the more discord events I miss, the more seeing a discord event just feels bad, and so I just conclude that my work schedule will probably interfere with anything I'm invited to and don't pay enough attention to whether that's really possible or not. Anyway, after sitting in the living room for a while feeling miserable, I suddenly remembered I needed to update my website, so here I am. Updating my website. Still feeling kind of miserable. It's my own fault; going to bed now.

Sunday: we had lunch of pizza at Buddy's with the Holts in Livonia. We must have flown home afterwards, because by 7:30 PM, we were having dinner and cocktails with Richard and Glen at Mike's Wine Dive in Wichita. Julie called it a "surrogate uncles' day" observance.
