Tuesday: since it was my first day of vacation, I indulged myself a bit while Julie was at work. I picked up lunch at Newbold Cafe, I opened all my Perils in Paradise cards in Hearthstone, and I played a bunch of Zilliax Warrior and Shudderblock/Incindius games. After Julie arrived, I swapped out the litter, we took out the trash, and we spent a couple of hours ripping out the saplings that had taken root in the backyard planters, along with all the other unwanted growth in the back and front of the apartment. I didn't realize how much the plants had become a hotbed of spotted lanternflies; we also saw some hornets in the back. After coming inside and cleaning off, we reheated the veggie pasta with feta while watching more Resident Alien.
Sunday: we did a little more clean-up. I scraped the mud off the soles of my old sandals that I wear any time I have to go into the basement, Julie scraped the rug in the living room with her cat hair hand-rake, and I vacuumed the bedrooms. I watched videos on that board game Root while we waited to hear whether the cook-out was still happening, but it wasn't, so we just spent a quiet night watching Futurama episodes. I played a couple of rounds of Root on Steam as well. I wound up staying up late to do the dishes, and I was too tired to come back and update the page, so I put it off until tomorrow.
