2024

Wednesday: enjoyed my work day pretty well. Took a shower on my first break, napped for the first half of my lunch, ate the last of my salad for the second half, and then took another nap on my last break. However, my actual work shift was full of follow-up resolutions and afficiently resolved calls, so it was a big improvement over yesterday. Julie was going out to the Bok Bar with friends in the evening, so I was on my own after my shift ended. Before she left, she made spaghetti for dinner, and we each ate a third of it. While I ate, I played some Hearthstone while watching some Dale and Dawson Stationary Supplies stream vods, which has been fun to have on in the background while I've been playing Satisfactory and other games these last couple of nights. When I finished eating, I tried to bring Mim back to the litter box in the bedroom, but she and John seem to have executed a territorial swap such that she can barely stand to be in the bedroom, while he's constantly sneaking in there to sleep on the bed. Perhaps because his smell is now saturating the space, she wouldn't stick around, so I followed her back out into the living room. Decided to start watching the first few episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on streaming to try and get a better perspective on the media landscape that was important to some of my friends back in high school and to give context to the one episode I saw back then. Julie got home in the middle of the second episode and immediately called out Xander as "the original incel", but despite her dismissiveness, she stuck around to watch. Once she was asleep (after the "she-mantis" episode), I turned it off and came into the office to post this update. Plans for my weekend tomorrow: do the dishes, finally mail my sleep test data, get my shopping done, and vacuum the office.

2023

Monday: got up with plenty of time to spare thanks to my early night on Sunday, so it was a smooth and productive day at work. Quizzo at Stogie Joe's was an hour early because of the game. Megan and Nolan joined us, the latter of whom wanted to apologize about how his party had gone on Friday. (Julie was surprised to realize that she'd forgotten that someone had coughed water into her face, but we weren't bothered by how things had gone.) The questions felt harder than usual, and we fell one position short of a reward. The salad and pizza were as great as usual, but I was still hungry when we got home, so I rinsed off the remaining carrots and finished all the hummus in the fridge while watching somebody's Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers stream highlights. I stayed up too late.
