Tuesday: this is the start of my first "weekend" under my new schedule. Normally I'll be home alone Tuesday mornings, but since Julie's going into work on Thursday, she was home, as well. We took John to the vet to see if he might be having urinary issues again, but it doesn't really seem like it. Might just need to try some new options for his diet. Once we were home, I walked to Acme to get more cat treats and pick up lunch at the halal cart. I spent a fair bit of the afternoon playing Hearthstone and Vampire Survivors, but we had our monthly POPE trivia night, and despite the crowds, our threesome found comfortable and quiet seating in the backroom. We had fair performance in the "1985" round, strong performance in the "finish the lyrics" round, and pretty good performance when answering questions about movies with titles that refer to food or drink, but we still ended up just shy of third place. For dinner, I tried the chicken sandwich, but I didn't love the goat cheese. After we walked back home, I got into FFXIV for the big 7.1 update that dropped today, but I didn't get very deep into the MSQ: I pretty much just got the new level 30 experience bonus ring, ran one Arcadion instance to get my gear to the appropriate level, ran the FFXI crossover Alliance Raid, and called it a night.
Sunday: in a bit of a funk tonight, for no good reason.
Work was fine, and with adequate use of jackets and the space heater, the temperature wasn't a problem. I'm spending a lot of time lately wearing computer headsets over my jacket hood. We had a basketball game tonight (76ers beat Pacers by a narrow margin), so I finished my leftover pizza at the end of my shift. We met up with Justin and Meagan at the Wells Fargo arena, and our seats were a straight shot past the basket on the west end of the court. The contest was close and plenty engaging, but I still drowsed a bit through the middle. We hustled back onto the subway (standing room only) and were back around 8:30. I had some of my hummus and pita while I watched some Folding Ideas videos for a while.
Anyway, I've just been reading through the latest annotated source code that Ryan sent while listening to music and making the odd update to my own project, but I think I encountered too many of my old cringeworthy forum posts yesterday and it's making me preoccupied with how bad I am at all of this. Maybe I should make an early night of it.
Saturday: to celebrate our anniversary, we went to the Philadelphia Zoo! The plan had been to take the subway up to the trolley exchange and ride the trolley over, but it turned out that they were just running buses on that route for some reason. Might have been related to a big run event that required a detour some distance to the north? Anyway, the Zoo was fine. It felt a lot smaller than the Sedgwick County Zoo, and the facilities were obviously older, but they did have some novel innovations. Some of the animals (like the chimpanzees and big cats) had elevated walkways that would permit them to visit other sections of the Zoo, while the lions would have their food suspended from the top of a tree trunk to drive enrichment. All in all, a pretty memorable trip.

Sunday: we saw John Mulaney in Kansas City doing his "Kid Gorgeous" show. (Before the performance, we went to La Bodega for tapas and half-price sangria.)

Monday: to showcase how well our budding romance was going, Julie posted a quote from the British version of *The Office* on my facebook page, as I'd been coming over to watch it with her, and she thought it was amusing how uncomfortable I found the secondhand embarrassment that the show was built upon.
