Saturday: got out of bed later than I wanted. I was able to log into World of Warcraft to level characters in Legion Remix a couple of times, but I can't shake the feeling that the deadline at the end of next week is closing in too rapidly for me to accomplish all of my goals. At one point, my vulpera shaman took a quest flight out of the shaman class order hall and then immediately accepted the teleport when my dungeon finder queue popped, which caused the game's record of my location to be bugged. Once we were done clearing out Neltharion's lair, I tried to drop the group to be transported back, and I discovered that no method of transport out of the instance would work: not the dungeon auto-transport when no longer in the instance's party, nor hearthstones, nor a summons from another party, nor Nostwin's Voucher. I had to use the "Character Stuck" support ticket, which is why half my time was spent retooling my Kul Tiran druid as a healer.

Around noon, I drove us through the rain to PetSmart, Taco Bell, and Acme. It seemed to be a day for tow trucks, as we saw two of them moving cars on our way to the restaurant. While we ate, I played a game of Hearthstone, and at the store, I got the stuff to make meatloaf for dinner. After our talk the other day, I picked up a couple of packs of precooked chicken for my salads, so this is the first week in a long while in which I didn't buy three bags of pistachios.

Once I brought us back home, I started a load of laundry and got the litter. Julie tried to nap through her weather-induced headache. I thought at one point that I heard her cooking dinner, but she must have just been preparing her lunches for next week; we ended up having leftovers. I finished up the fried rice, but since there was only a little bit of that left, I also had a (chickenless) salad while watching an Arrested Development reaction video.

The rest of my evening went to Red Dead Redemption 2's first Epilogue, which consisted mostly of wandering the landscape to fill out the empty parts of my map (as far as Armadillo), reading newspapers and journal entries, and moving from being a ranch hand to Sadie's freelance contractor. I treated the cats before I went to bed, but I also tried to fold my laundry, only for John to involve himself in the process, which concluded with him sleeping on my folded clothes in the laundry basket while I sat in the lawn chair beside him and scrolled through Select Button. I eventually convinced him to leave the basket and came up to bed, though it was much after midnight by that point.

Friday: spent almost a quarter of the workday in briefings, thanks in part to the wildfire situations in California. My supervisor gave me the highest marks for my end-of-year review, and she had me switch back to Assign to work on Trade Sanctions for the rest of the day. My late night meant I wasn't in tremendous shape today, though, so I spent half my break time drowsing, and I ended up missing my call with David after my shift ended. Julie found some recipe for stuffed bell peppers that she decided to try out for dinner. While we ate, we continued watching Star Trek: Prodigy, making it several episodes into the second season. After the meal, I worked on the last couple of missing baseline achievements for Vampire Survivors, so it's about time to pursue more DLC unlocks. Trying to call it early for once: should be in bed before 2 AM.

Wednesday: another early morning, though I didn't get much done during my pre-work project time. My work shift continued with low overall call volume focusing on mostly escalations, so I got to work on projects a bunch. Once work was over, some forum drama demanded my attention, after which I took a shower. For dinner, Julie had made broccoli and sliced sausage casserole for dinner, and we caught up on the UK version of Ghosts before continuing with Murder, She Wrote. I was soon falling asleep again, so I went to bed close to 10 PM.

2023

Tuesday: my first regular-schedule midweek day off in more than six months. Spent time clearing storage on my laptop and catching up on apps. The cats were determined to take advantage of extra lounging time. We had planned a trip to the gym, but Julie wasn't feeling well, so I just made pizza. I didn't use as much olive oil as normal, and the sausage variety didn't divide very well. Still, it wasn't bad. More Civ VI while watching TV, though the games weren't very noteworthy. I'm getting better at taking an early lead, but I fall behind as we move into the midgame: I think I'm not founding enough cities.
