Monday: pretty easy work shift (including a QA 1-on-1, if I'm remembering right). Miserably cold outside thanks to the snowfall, and it was bad enough that the presidential inauguration was moved indoors this year (for the first time in decades). Not so bad that we couldn't go to trivia, and while we were close to the fake fireplace, I was stuck facing the TV. Still, if one of us had to see a live broadcast of the current political developments, better me than Julie. She had several complaints: somebody nearby had maxed the volume of their phone's notification chime, and the table full of college-aged drinkers next to us was a little bit obnoxious. (They had a Jason at their table, too, but for some reason they felt the need to address him by name approximately every three minutes. It's not really clear why.) We had a substitute Jimmie this week, and his questions were a lot harder, not least because they favored historical sports trivia that neither of us were interested in. By the fifth round, we were tied for last place among still-competing teams. We improved our position a little bit with the music round, but not by nearly enough to matter. At home, I played some FFXI before making another post about it on Select Button.
Saturday: few days depress me like Saturdays in WAVE season when I get reassigned to the phones. Finished the leftover beef stew for dinner and fell asleep early watching Murder, She Wrote, I think.
Friday: Another excessively busy day at work. We'd planned to go to the gym after I finished, but my last call went long, and by the time I was done Julie didn't really want to go out. I had the first of the two saved servings of meatballs with pasta in the office while watching videos, after which I moved to the living room while we played more Civ VI. This map had smaller islands so we were pretty isolated, and after Julie found herself on the receiving end of a war declaration from her neighbor when her treasury was empty, we decided to call it. I wound up playing a bit more Final Fantasy XIV, finishing the opening Sharlayan chapter, and then it was time for bed.
