Wednesday: busy workdays continue. Snow is on the ground outside, and every phone and computer around wants me to know that bad weather is continuing this weekend. It's a holiday week, so I took the trash out tonight rather than on Tuesday. Near the end of my shift, I had to reach out to Carl to repair a group that had developed some issues, and we spent a while talking since I didn't have to be on the phones at that point. Seems like he might be getting married sometime around March, though any plans for a reception for friends and family haven't made it to the calendar yet. We might try a weekly or semiweekly in the interim, if he can work out the details and players.
Media today consisted mainly of the latest CSB podcast, the Kastaclysm playthrough of FFVIII, and the latest Fallout season 2 episode while we ate dinner, which was a seasoned pork roast with baked cabbage and bran muffins. After the show, I got back to Red Dead Redemption 2 with a focus specifically on bounty hunting and a little bit of Epilogue story, in which I made it to chapter 2. The controllers kept dying, so I soon called it quits and treated the cats before bed. Managed to play one UmaMusume career before falling asleep.
Tuesday: about the only thing I managed to do before Julie got home was to walk to the store for more cat treats. (Among the boxes, I included one package of the new chicken and cheese flavor to see how the cats like it.) While I was out, I picked up a chicken over salad with rice from the halal cart for lunch. It wasn't the usual guy; we chatted about the miserable snowy weather, but he said that as long as the wind doesn't blow in, he's warm enough for just a t-shirt, thanks to the heat of his cooking. The new StarCraft-themed mini-set for Hearthstone came out, and it seems to be a big hit. I played a bunch of games with Terran decks for quest completion purposes while I ate.
After Julie's arrival from work, we got changed and walked to the gym, which was busy enough that the only available machines were one treadmill and one cycle. Julie's been favoring the cycle lately, so I spent my 30 minutes on a power-walk up a volcanic hiking trail. Once we got home and cleaned up, we had to go right back out to the subway for another hockey game, as tickets were only $20.
It was Pride Night at the The game was tied 1-1 for most of its duration, though the Flyers scored a game-winning point in the final minute of overtime. We started out just below the top-most row of seats, but we moved up after the first period when nobody else was above us. I spent most of the game playing more matches with Protoss decks in Hearthstone. We eventually got home on one of the more crowded subway cars that I can remember, and I stayed up too late beta testing a game for Caleb Wilson, after which I think I just played (even more) Hearthstone.
Sunday: at least the workday was better since I got to focus on chat support and my projects. After work, we finished the scalloped potatoes and started watching Trailer Park Boys on Justin and Meagan's recommendation. I also tried to help Julie with her current puzzle, and while I was able to put a couple pieces in, I couldn't make much headway before I got sleepy, and she sent me to bed.
Saturday: another wild day on the phones. Used up the last of my drinks with my sandwiches for lunch and the leftover meatball pasta for dinner. I tried to watch a couple of videos, but I wound up crashing for around three hours on the office bed and had vivid dreams about running a street-level criminal enterprise as the police were conducting a sweep. OJ is now chomping on the plastic bag handles for this bag of grapes I'm eating. Rejuvenated by my nap, I'm probably going to spend a few hours with FFXIV since Julie's wiped out from going to a bar to watch the game.
