2024

Saturday: while I didn't get to bed quite as early as I would have liked, I did at least get enough sleep that I could wake up more than 90 minutes before my shift. I had time to log into FFXIV and finish the Valentine's event, unlocking that emote where your character makes a heart-shape with their hands, and there's a few special effects to signify the romantic power it represents. I wanted to also finish the Endwalker patch MSQ, but I forgot that I haven't started the combat scenario with Wuk Lamat yet. I wasn't confident in my ability to finish the scenario before I had to start shutting down for my work shift.

Work was alright in that I didn't have to take any calls (other than one conversation with a confused colleague), but I had to spend a lot more time doing chat assistance than making progress on my accounting reworks. On my breaks, I've been following Joseph Anderson's Persona 4 videos at accelerated speed to get through all the combat grinding. I've taken to covering my legs with this otter blanket while I work, because between John and Grey Goose, I'm constantly getting clawed. John's trying to get my attention so I'll follow him to a place where he can eat or play or otherwise get attention, while Goose just wants to lie on my lap and knead whatever she can get her claws into. My newest jeans are already showing too much damage thanks to these two; I've resolved to only wearing old clothing while I'm lounging around the apartment.

Julie picked up more groceries while I worked, but our leftovers supplies are still high enough that we didn't need to get the kitchen cleaned up yet. She had more of the broccoli-cheese soup; I finished the curry rice with chicken and broccoli. While we ate, we continued watching Poirot, and once saw the episode where the Prime Minster went missing, we've definitely reached episodes we saw while the series was still on Netflix. Julie continued her knitting, and I wasted some time in Hearthstone, not making any real progress on the standard ladder. She's started to fall asleep, so it's time for bed.

2023

Friday: started a new project at work today which means I get to be off the phones for the next two weeks. Meanwhile, Julie and Phil were putting together plans for a get together for the football game on Sunday. Dinner was the last of the veggie pasta, and after dinner we started a new Civ VI game. My start seemed rough, but by the midgame I coasted into a lead that I maintained until we decided to save and quit. Afterwards, I watched the first bit of a Disco Elysium playthrough, and that was pretty much my night.
