Saturday: since John woke me up early, I followed him into the office and napped on the bed there with him curled in my arm until around 10:30. While this meant I didn't have as much time for project-work as I would have liked, I did manage to do some necessary research and make some design decisions about the scope of the game I'm working on. Before leaving for our Saturday errands, I wore the heavy coat along with a lighter jacket, and this was a mistake; the despite the snow everywhere, it was warm enough in the car that I found myself overheating on several occasions. We had to go down to the PetSmart on Oregon for our supplies this week, and it was a circuitous route thanks to all the people trying to get into the carwash and blocking the turn lane. I eventually got us to the store, to Taco Bell, adn then to Acme. Picked up the stuff to make pizza, and after last week's splurge on Cheez-It crackers, this week I'm back to pistachios as my snack of choice. When we got home, I got the litter, vacuumed, pulled the broken heated blanket off the office bed, and did my laundry. Julie cooked some clearance pork slices with rice and brothfor dinner, which we had with mashed potatoes and the corn from last week that we'd forgotten about. We watched some Bob while we ate, and then I did my weekly Animal Crossing: New Horizons check-in. I picked up "K.K. Lovers" to commemorate the holiday, made my ninth hotel room (themed around ice-block furniture), and made a vacation home for Ruby (a moon-gazing rabbit bungalow on the beach). After Julie headed toward bed, I folded up my laundry before doing the rest of the rare-hunting for the "Two Minutes to Midnight" pre-patch achievement in WoW. And now: bed.
Friday: workday started with just my usual project time, but just before my first break, Julie walked out to the corner to the Broad street corner to see the parade. Or she would have, if the street weren't already choked with people. I went out to join her on my break, but I was a little bit delayed by a long call. Shouldn't have worried, though, as the parade hadn't reached the intersection yet... nor would it, by the time I had to go back inside. We stood in the frigid cold by the portable lavatories for a while and shivered in the cold. At one point, a guy pushing a DJ cart tried to make his way through the crowd so that he could find a way uptown on one of the adjacent streets. It was a wild event.
Before it was time for my second break, Julie had finally gathered up the last of her stuff for her vacation, and she bid me farewell until next Thursday. Once my shift ended, I started cleaning up, but in the bathroom, I accidentally dropped my electric razor. Sparks came out, and after it was safely unplugged, I saw that the blades were misaligned. I think it's probably a lost cause.
In the evening, I tried to give John one of the hydro packs we'd ordered as a replacement for his snack routine, but he wasn't at all interested. I didn't wind up eating until after 10 PM, but I just reheated some of the curry chicken and rice for dinner, while I watched some post-season 10 episodes of Bob's Burgers. I went to the bedroom early to ensure Mim got her quiet time away from the other cats, and I texted Julie about the sounds of the city.
Wednesday: Julie worked at home again today, but tomorrow she's going in for a work celebration. My own shift was pleasant thanks to my three ongoing projects, and it felt like the day was over almost before it had properly begun. I decided to take a break from watching Joseph Anderson's Persona 4 playthrough to instead watch Preach's FFXIV vods. For dinner, I'd recently mentioned a desire to have the buffalo chicken with rice and cheese again, so Julie'd prepared the meal along with some asparagus. We watched more Poirot episodes while we ate, along with a few Oreos that Julie'd had stached away in the kitcken.
Tuesday: woke up kinda late and didn't get much done. Julie and I didn't have any plans for the holiday, but a couple from my FFXIV discord were getting married in-game, so I attended the ceremony and reception. Afterwards, Julie and I played some Civ VI until we got tired.

Saturday: the cats like staring at the dogs constantly barking in the neighbor's backyard.
