Thursday: after my update last night, I stayed up late working on a collaborative project so that we could get a prototype out, and today, it's functional! We have a lot more work to do, but it's still inspiring to see what everybody's come up with so far. I spent most of this evening testing and mapping the game, and I'm pretty psyched to work on it again tomorrow.
Earlier in the day, I finally completed the third secret challenge to unlock the Shimmering Snowflake cardback in Hearthstone. This challenge was an enormous maze hidden within the game's user interface; there are around a dozen such puzzles and minigames hidden in the game, and the maze is notoriously the most difficult of them all. I'd first tried it back in the spring of 2022, but I gave up after a couple of hours. Today, I managed to finish it just after the three-hour mark. Even with the help of an online guide, it required a lot of meticulous mapping, so it's kind of funny that I would go on to spend the rest of my evening mapping in a completely different kind of game.
Since Julie spent the day at the office before going to an after-hours celebration for a coworker, I walked down to Subway for a late lunch, where I read peoples' opinions about the new "Splendiferous Whizbang" card that was just revealed for Hearthstone's next set. For dinner, I finished the Colombian chicken stew while I watched my Disco Elysium streamer talk with delinquent youths in a tent, while also playing my prototype in a separate window. The plan for tomorrow is to go to the store, do some laundry, clean up the apartment, and make our favorite vegetable pasta with feta for dinner.
Wednesday: Julie picked up a bagel for brunch, so when I finally got out of the house to go shopping, I didn't bother getting lunch. I just ran to Acme, grabbed some necessities, and got home. After she finished with work, we walked to P'unk Burger since they were doing an anniversary special. Just like last time we went, the staff had this air of terse desperation, and while the burger was good, it was way too messy for a place that has such flimsy and understocked napkins. We played Civ VI, and after Julie went to bed, I saw Pentiment was on sale and picked that up. I got through a couple of in-game days before I went to sleep.
The drama lately on select button has been getting out of control, and we're being more deliberate about having Felix divest control to his successors, though I still don't feel like this process is complete two years later.

Take note!! Today's update is a little bit crass and adult-oriented!
Julie and I had recently been enamored of this youtube series, "Hot Pepper Gaming". The idea is that game devs or journalists or youtubers will come on the channel, eat a hot pepper and/or hot sauce, and then they'll review a game they want to promote for whatever reason.
Of these videos, Julie's favorite video of theirs is—by far—Reina Scully's review of the porny anime puzzle game HuniePop. She enjoyed the video so much, in fact, that she got the game. We both did.
...
Anyway, this was the last day I played the game myself. (As of October 11, 2023, Julie has racked up more than 70 hours of play on her copy...)
