Tuesday: let myself snooze until almost noon, after which I walked to the store for cat treats and a prescription refill. While I was out, I grabbed lunch from the halal cart. I didn't feel like it was so cold that I needed to wear gloves or an extra coat, but the breeze was fierce enough that my eyes watered for the duration of my walk back home. I played a little bit of Hearthstone while I ate (and caught up on the latest reveals for "Into the Emerald Dream"), but I swapped over to watch this stream of Ryan Veeder's The Little Match Girl in the Court of Maal Dweb. (Maal Dweb is such a cool character; his dialogue is dark and extravagant compared to so many of the caracters in the Little Match Girl games.)
After Julie got home, I gathered up the litter with our new litter scoop and took out some of the trash. We got cleaned up and took the subway to the bar for the latest round of Karly Moon's weekly trivia. (Ryan was providing additional Maal Dweb commentary on his Patreon discord, so I spent the subway rides and the time between rounds of trivia catching up on the ongoing discussion.) When we arrived at the bar, we got seated in the back near the pool table; Julie got to watch hockey on the TV near the bar, while I was facing televisions that displayed yet more rounds of this inexplicable indoor/virtual golf tournament that's been showing up in bars for the past few months. (Celine Dion was in attendance in the weird golf arena, for some reason??) I ordered a flatbread with chicken and cashews, while Julie did a buffalo chicken sandwich without bread.
During the trivia, Julie decided we should be "Figgy Friddles" in full recognizance that my actual figgy Friddles is on Mondays. The questions this week were themed around the recent Academy Awards. Thanks to last night's trivia, we were more prepared for this topic than we might have been. As usual, Julie carried us through a majority of the general knowledge questions, but I managed to contribute a few unexpected answers. (The most surprising of these was correctly guessing "True Grit" as the answer to the question about John Wayne's Oscar win. I have no recollection when or why I learned of this originally.) We spent the first three rounds pretty firmly in 2nd place out of four competing teams. When the last round arrived, we were tied for first... but Julie had given the best answer to the bonus question about the length of Adrien Brody's speech, so we won the event!
Back home, we finished bringing out the garbage, and I distributed the cats' nightly tuna. After getting John out of the bedroom so Julie could retire with Mim for the evening, I started this update while watching the start of Kastaclysm's Chrono Trigger playthrough that just appeared.
Monday: I spent less than half the workday on my projects because our call volume has been spiking. The calls themselves were fine, though I could have done without the escalations and follow-up requests. Once Julie got home and my shift ended, we had the leftover orzo pasta for dinner before going to Quizzo. It was just the two of us, and the place was both packed and hot. I wore too many long-sleeved shirts to be comfortable. Since we'd already eaten, we just had crab fries and drinks, and we proceeded to achieve our worst rounds of trivia since we've started playing. We usually get at least seven points on every picture round, but tonight we had an "identify the WNBA players" challenge that we only got three points on. After such a disastrous performance, we came back home to treat the cats, and I caught up on the Hearthstone anniversary event before doing some Stormblood Hildibrand quests in FFXIV.
Saturday: eggs for brunch, followed by a trip to the store and a haircut. Cleaned up the apartment a bit, then I made vegetable pasta with feta for dinner. We played a bit of Civ, but mismatched geography and abilities meant that things went poorly, despite an aggressive approach to settling cities. We cut things short, and I spent a couple hours working on max-level MMO content.

Sunday: we went to the WSU vs Nebraska baseball game today since I won some tickets at Intrust, and Julie posted a story about it to facebook as follows: "All game long the little kid behind us has yelled 'home run!' anytime the batter has hit the ball, regardless of outcome - never a home run though. The kid and his crew leave to go to the bathroom or something. While they are gone the Shockers hit a legit home run with grand slam and the kid completely missed it."

Thursday: over on facebook, they've added an application "Friend Q&A" which awards coins by answering questions, but won't let you see your friend's answers unless you spend 50 coins, which I felt defeated the entire purpose.
