Wednesday: port day. 1345 Kon Tiki Party Boat and Beach Fun. 19 My Time dining. 21 Seasons on Ice.

2044 - Studio B (Ice Theater): woke up pretty late and made our way to Windjammer Cafe for breakfast. Julie wasn't feeling great and napped for a while afterwards, though I did double check to confirm that the slide wasn't running yet. I came back to the room and spent some time lying down while playing Hearthstone so as not to overexert myself. When we got up for lunch around 3, Windjammer Cafe had already closed, so we went down to the pizza place instead. We went back to our room and gathered our things for today's shore excursion, which meant going ashore just long enough to file onto a catamaran with 72 other people. They motored out into the bay and put up the sails while plying us with rum punch and champagne and savory snacks as the sun set. I spent the whole time paranoid about accidentally dropping my phone or ID out of my pockets, since we were seated right over the netting at the far forward edge. We got back into port just as it was getting dark, but we stopped in one of the shops to get a St. Thomas magnet. After we got back aboard and dropped off our excess belongings in the room, we returned to the Windjammer Cafe for dinner, since we couldn't take a long time with a multi-course meal. The lines for the grill and for dessert were pretty wild; I just had some buttered chicken and rice and fish, followed by a wide selection of desserts. We got out with time to spare, so we strolled up to the Deck 16 model of the ship before coming down to Deck 4, where the casino is closed since we're still in port. Now we're just waiting for the start of the ice show ('365', which looks like it may be season-themed).

0032 - in bed: ice show was pretty good. We were in the counter seats in the back row, so we had to deal with a lot of noise from people standing in the entrance, but I still enjoyed the performance. After we finished, we debated what to do next, but by the time we got to our room, we'd settled on watching the water show a second time. This time around, we watched from the rock wall balcony: still good, and it was an interesting angle to see what was going on in the water on-stage, but I think the performance was more impactful from a lower angle. We returned to the room and I played some more HS before bed. I think we saw the parade on the Promenade Deck and ate a bite at Park Cafe today as well, but I'm not sure about the exact timing.

2023

Monday: the war to keep the basement clean continues with new developments. Julie and I have reversed our positions from a year ago: originally, she wanted to put all the litterboxes in the basement, while I wanted to keep the cats out of the basement altogether. Now she wants to block off the basement so they can't befoul unexpected corners, while I feel like we just need to continue setting up additional litterboxes as they'll just make messes upstairs if they can't get to the basement. I think things will improve once we aren't fostering Cliff, as he raises tension in the hallway a bit. I had leftover soup for dinner.
