Wednesday: hit the store late, picked up Taco Bell, and came home. The warmth was such that I couldn't bear to wear my jacket in the car. Since Julie hadn't had the opportunity to make cheeseburger soup with the ingredients she'd picked up, and since we were a little overwhelmed in leftovers, I just chopped up the potatoes and onion and made the soup for dinner. We resumed watching season 7 of Buffy while we ate, and we were both a little bit disgusted by how much we enjoyed the episode in which the season's villain isolated and confronted a few of the protagonists. It's really underscored for me just how much I enjoy when villains behave unpredictably. (Thus, my enduring love for the Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions to FFXIV.)
Tuesday: sea day; no reservations.
1901 - a bench in Central Park: our first at-sea day started with another late breakfast at Windjammer. The crowds were more pronounced with everybody stuck on the ship together. Once we finished eating, we went out to the Zipline so I could ride across the open atrium behind the water stage. The line for the Abyss slides was already too long, so we just went back to our room to change. We returned to the pool deck and resumed soaking in the saltwater pool, which I followed with a stint in the whirlpool by myself. After an hour or two, we were starting to get hungry and returned to El Loco Fresh, where I opened my Whizbang cards while eating. (Two quesadillas and a chicken burrito this time.) We went back to the saltwater pool again for a bit, followed this time by a trip to the Solarium. None of the decks I put together were any good, but in fairness I'm a little distracted. Once Julie was done lounging, we came back to the room to get showers and changed for formal night dinner. It was going to 2.5 hours before our table was ready, so we took a ride on the Rising Tide bar, where I drank a Goombay Smash I really enjoyed—good pineapple flavor. Julie's mixed wine drink was too citrussy by comparison. From there, we returned to the Central Park to relax where I'm writing this in wait for dinner and for the HS shop to reopen so I can buy 64 packs with my saved gold.
0119 - in bed: after my update, Julie noticed our excursion for tomorrow was missing, so we returned to the room to investigate. There was a card on our door reporting the excursion had to be cancelled, so she went down to the excursions desk to find a replacement, while I retraced our steps looking for a dinner reservation card that fell out of my pocket. I didn't find the card, but Julie did get us rebooked, so we returned to the stateroom for a moment before dinner. Dinner was in the main dining room, and we split escargot; I also had a Caesar salad and chicken cordon bleu, with almond cream puffs for dessert. We scheduled the rest of our dinners and then returned to the stateroom. We'd thought about going to a lounge, but we just lay on the bed for long enough that I called it and got undressed. Played enough paladin in HS that I got to diamond.
Sunday: in the morning, we walked to H&R Block as our taxes in 2022 were too complex to handle on the free file for once. For lunch, we picked up sandwiches from a BBQ place. It wound up being a lot more food than expected, so we were both stuffed and didn't have dinner until around 9:30 PM. The rest of the day was Civ VI.

Tuesday: got worked up about people claiming that Hardee's and Carl's Jr. were the same restaurant. I posted an explanation for why they're incorrect, and it was well received on both platforms on which I posted it.
