Tuesday: we're almost halfway through May! How's my big project for the month going? I'm sad to report: it isn't. Much like 9 of the last 11 days, I didn't spend any time before my shift doing any writing, outlining, or other necessary prep. At least it was a good work shift; I was able to do every group I picked up today, and I'm making good progress on my reworks. I was running short on salad supplies, so I walked up to Acme on my lunch break, and the opportunity to bring a platter home from the halal cart did not escape me. On my breaks, I caught up on GG's Alliance Raid broadcast, along with some very late-game Blue Prince puzzle solving.
Julie left a bit before the end of my shift to secure us a table at POPE. I followed as soon as I could, in my new green shirt and new glasses. We got our usual, and since one of the movies in the first round was Shaun of the Dead, we decided to play as "The Cornetto Enthusiasts." Despite suffering from an awful headache, Julie was able to carry us through the music rounds. We ended up in third place after tiebreakers. I should have been able to identify NES Tetris from its soundtrack, which would have put us in second, but I'd only heard the Game Boy version, and I thought maybe that arrangement was a tribute on the Yoshi's Cookie soundtrack for some reason. That was my point to lose.
Back home, I treated the cats, then spent way too much time on social media. Kind of getting into instagram as a way to share photos and videos to facebook without having to actually visit the latter. Mom's posting is a little out of control. Can I blame her, though? I do basically the same thing on tumblr, albeit from a much more progressive perspective.
Monday: after a busy shift of trying to catch up on my group reviews, Julie and I walked to Stogie Joe's for trivia. We brought jackets, but we needn't have bothered. The other Jimmie was filling in for Jimmie Simpson, so we took the opportunity to compete as the "Marble Workers." We were at the garage high-top table again, having our respective wings and salad, and we spent most of the game contesting first place, but we lost it in the music round, falling to fourth. Julie was vexed by the proximity and noise of a table full of girls next to us, and we had the misfortune of arriving to Favors & Flavors just as they were entering, so we had to wait for them to make up their minds about their orders before we could get ice cream. They were sold out of a lot of stuff from Mother's Day, but I enjoyed a cookies & cream bowl with added chocolate chips. I played a couple runs of Blue Prince after we got home, in which I opened up the fourth of eight significant doors, and I finally solved the chess puzzle for the first time.
Sunday: pretty much up most of the night working on Moondrop Isle, so I switched right over for my work shift at 9. After work, I crashed for a few hours, then had the rest of my salad for dinner after I reawakened. It was another sewing circle night, so I resumed the Moondrop Isle labors. I Watched some "Preach Plays Shadowbringers" as well. Cats are pretty desperate for the new treats, so I'll have to pick some up tomorrow after trivia.
Friday: finished my project at work, so I spent the last third of the day taking calls. Afterwards, we played Civ VI while I finished the leftover macaroni, but Theodora was a little too aggressive and Julie was losing consciousness, so we called it there. I worked on IF stuff for a bit, and I'm going to check in on a couple games for the last time for a while since I predict Tears of the Kingdom will be taking up all my free time for the next week at least.
After posting the updates for the past 5 days, I promptly spent a bunch more time working on IF stuff again, since I don't want to lose my inertia...
