Friday: had a super busy work shift for what felt like the third day in a row. What a surprise: the Groups Accounting team has to do a lot of accounting on groups. I'm pretty sure I met my overall goals, though, so Monday should be less demanding. One notable occurrence: the rain was so bad through the morning that our basement flooded! Seems like a combination of the street storm drains filling up and some bad drainage systems in the house itself, to say nothing of the leaky windows. We notified the landlord with photos and video, but it had mostly drained again within a few hours. After her shift, Julie left to join a friend for the new Tim Robinson film, but she would have preferred an actual comedy to the suspense film they made instead. I had a brief talk with David after my shift ended, and while I'd wanted to go to the living room to play more Unicorn Overlord, I ended up just doing more Blue Prince in the office, I think. The fact that I got the trophy for completing all the contraptions tonight seems to corroborate this.
Thursday: the plan to go to bed early paid off bigtime, and I was up in time to watch the Dawntrail Job Actions Trailer with my free company on discord. Afterwards, I went to the store for our supplies this week, and I picked up Taco Bell on the way home. Once I was done eating, I resumed work on Moondrop Isle, and I can feel myself closing in on the finish line, but I'm not close enough yet that I can afford to spend a lot of time writing this update. (Dinner was the rest of the spinach soup from yesterday. I'm making goulash tomorrow.)
Tuesday: voting day! I got up early to walk to the polling place by myself. I forgot that this was a primary election, so I wasn't as informed as I would have liked. I had lunch out and got home in time to shower and start another shift. Still pretty busy due to the circumstances from yesterday, but things are improving. Julie made mushrooms and gravy over cube steak with potatoes and asparagus for dinner, and I did get a little TotK in. I'm at the point where they let you pursue four major leads according to your own preference, and I'm making progress on the most southeasterly of those leads. I decided to stop pursuing that objective for the moment because the difficulty is about to increase, and I'd like to get more resources before I throw myself into that gauntlet.

Thursday: taught myself some lessons the hard way: oven mitts should not touch the floor. Oven mitts should not be moistened prior to use. If exceptional heating occurs, oven mitts should be removed only AFTER setting down any carried pots or pans.

Saturday: we lost Gus today. Feline diabetes. Julie tweeted about it:

14:28 Our big boy is now interred in Jason's parents backyard. I thought it would get easier as the day went on but that's not happening.
16:16 I can't stop looking around and thinking about all the places in the apartment he would be sprawled out and purring at us.
16:39 I need to figure out a way to get all my Gus related pictures off my phone and onto something more permanent.
