Sunday: not quite sure how early I initially woke up, but I know I ended up in the office, where Julie was asleep in the bed. I spent basically my entire morning watching the rest of the enneagram videos I'd started yesterday, which was a useful process as I transcribed notes for characters for my project. As the morning warmed up, we got dressed and walked up Point Breeze Ave, which proved a remarkable change of scenery. We got our cat supplies and walked to Acme, where I had some prescriptions waiting. Back home, we got cleaned up, after which I had some of my salad for lunch. Jay Essen played Moondrop Isle, part 2. After the stream ended, I chilled in the living room for a bit, and Julie eventually boiled some potatoes, cooked some corn on the cob, and sliced some pork for dinner, which we ate while watching Hot Fuzz. While it's still among my favorite movies, I found myself distracted by a point of inconsistency as the conspiracy is being unveiled. Danny doesn't believe that the NWA are murdering people, yet he uses his fake blood trick to get Nicholas out of the situation and out of town? Nicholas instantly faints at the sight of being stabbed, despite not actually being harmed? These scenes always felt a little hand-wavy to me, but tonight I found myself preoccupied with them. Anyway: it's time for bed, though first I called Mom and got caught up on the family's various medical scares. I am all the more glad that I'm trying to change course after so many years of idleness.
Saturday: Julie recommended we mix up our usual Saturday lunch plans, so we decided to try eating at Asad's Hot Chicken, which was decent. We went to the store afterwards, where I almost picked up grapes, but changed my mind at the last minute because I was put off by the bag's stickiness. When I drove us home, I was going to park at the corner, but fortunately a spot closer to the apartment opened up while we were bringing the groceries in. We got changed into workout clothes and walked to the gym, whereI got to see the layout changes brought about by the replacement of a bunch of their cycles and treadmills. We decided to try the new cycles this time. We made it a short work-out this time, and we got cleaned up for dinner. Julie had made more of the Emperor's-inspired fried rice that I love so much. While we ate, we resumed watching Enterprise, though I'd seen a few of these episodes before. I played a fair bit of Vampire Survivors while we watched, as I was in no position to pay attention to the new Golden Idol update that just came out. I still managed to stay up later than I should have this way.
Friday: I was exhausted because I basically worked through the night, but I finally completed (to my satisfaction) the main area puzzle for my part of Moondrop Isle! There are still a number of optional updates I want to add as well, but I feel much less stressed about the state of the game. I made more of that goulash for dinner, and it came out really well. We watched a Poirot film while we could stay conscious, but it was pretty forgettable. Afterwards, I came back into the office and tried out the Mists of Pandaria Remix with a Zandalari death knight. By 11, I was in bed so that I could catch up on sleep.
Wednesday: I don't remember much of what happened Wednesday. (It's a week later as I'm writing this.) Work was still pretty rough from the aftermath of Monday's announcement, but I was happy to console myself with more Tears of the Kingdom. For the details, please see my May 20 update.

Saturday: flying to Michigan with Julie! Or that was the plan, anyway. Our connection in Chicago was delayed, so we had to spend a night in Illinois. We walked from our hotel to a restaurant which is owned by teh same company that runs Village Inn. Julie should remember the name.

Julie's tweets suggest we're still going through a rough time, at this point:
08:38 Looking forward to the distraction work is going to provide today.
22:00 @jsnlxndrlv At least you can easily sleep away your time not at work in this apartment...
22:06 I can't stop thinking of how it could have been different. His death was avoidable if we had only seen the signs soon enough. Sigh.
22:06 I need to stop beating myself up over this, I do realize that. It's just easier to blame myself for everything.
