Thursday: after I finished my update Wednesday night, I got carried away with an update for a Slack chat I'm in. I spent like five hours working on maps and writing up plans. It was a lot! Too much, even. Ah well.
Another long day at work with too many calls. Had a good briefing about upcoming changes in the department, which included an assessment to determine our "DiSC Styles", DiSC being short for Dominance, influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. Most people came up as one primary letter for their "innate" motivation with a secondary letter representing the behavior they've adopted in response to their environment. As people were presenting their outcomes, I said that I regretted not guessing a particular supservisor's results because I would have been right. A department head replied, "I bet you're an SC, aren't you?" Which turned out to be correct! It was an amusing diversion.
I was supposed to figure out dinner for myself, but I forgot to grab anything and just started playing Zelda. I discovered the main purpose for all the spinny launching platforms in the sky and went through completing that purpose for as many as I could, collecting the last four or so Skyview Towers I was missing in the southwest as I went. Getting to a shrine above the last of the towers was a good stopping point.

Thursday: in my journal update for today, I called five things fun and one thing terrifying. (Fun: the German trip I went on, my 18th birthday, SaGa Frontier II, my graduation, and dating my high school sweetheart. Terrifying: dating my high school sweetheart.) (To be fair to that version of me from nearly 24 years ago: he didn't use the word "terrifying," because he couldn't yet admit that fear was what he was experiencing. He just expressed frustration at how hard he found it to take positive, deliberate actions.) I expressed an optimistic sentiment that would prove poorly considered by the end of summer.
