Tuesday: the holiday meant we were swamped for Recon emails when I came in. Kimber and I were working on these until almost the end of the shift. I couldn't stay late since we needed to catch a subway for quizzo. This week, Karly declared the theme would be "the start of summer," and we struggled to come up with a topical team name. Finally, I suggested "Solstivus" as a play on Festivus, and it ended up paying off as her mom's favorite team name of the night. I don't think we performed all that well, otherwise, but we still went home with a prize.
Monday: it's Memorial Day, and I have the day off for once. I spent a chunk of the morning trying to work on Moondrop Isle and get into a "finished" state since we're trying to release on 05/29. Since we were going to a cookout in the afternoon, I just made a sandwich for lunch. I wore my Hanks shirt, and when we walked over to Tricia's place, a guy on the street congratulated me on having nice Venture Bros merch. I should have congratulated him right back on having good taste in entertainment.
At Tricia's, Nolan and his cousin prepared burgers, but my focus was on hanging out with the dogs, Willow and Edison. Edison had just had her uterus removed due to an infection, so she was feeling pretty under the weather. I had a couple of beers while we were there, but before too much longer, we had to meet up with Emily at Lucky 13.
Once we'd passed enough time at the bar, it was time to go to Stogie Joe's for Quizzo, and we got seated in the garage area next to a couple who were new to Jimmy's trivia. We gave up a few easy points, so it's not like we were in any danger of winning, and afterwards, I nudged Julie into picking up soft serve with me before we went home. I did some more bug-squashing and last-minute implementation details, but sleep crept up on me quickly, and I spent my last night in the office bed before Julie left for her Kentucky work trip.
Saturday: no time to go to the store today, as we had people to meet just outside Camden in the afternoon. I made myself a sandwich for lunch before we caught our trains.
My black jeans might have been a mistake for such a hot day, but I'd kind of forgotten the plan was to walk around a street fair. This was in Collingswood, which turned out to be a dry community, so we just had bottled water. Stephanie and Aaron showed us some of their preferred local stores, and Julie picked up some spices she hadn't been able to find in-town yet. We had a good tie wandering around and talking, but I did get a little sunburned because I felt self-conscious about the hat I'd brought.
On our way back home, we stopped by the ice cream place and got soft serve. The late night + walking around all day in the heat + ice cream crash knocked me out for a bit, and I drowsed on the bed in the office for an hour before we started getting cleaned up for the evening. We decided to try a game of Civ VI, and as the Māori, I circumnavigated the globe before bringing everyone together in a diplomatic victory.

Sunday: went to see Stone Temple Pilots at the Cotillion. I think this was the one where the guys from McConnell AFB were right in front of us grinding on their dates all night.
