2025

Saturday: woke up a little after 6 at the hotel in Livonia. We loaded up the car and got on the road; I played a lot of mobile Vampire Survivors, finally getting the original credits. Just as we were getting into Pennsylvania, Julie parked us at a rest stop where we had Jimmie Johns for the first time in a while. I took over driving afterward, and while I wanted to get us straight through to Philadelphia, I had to pull over outside of town so we could use the restroom and gas up again. We got home around 5:40 PM and unloaded the car; while most of the cats soon welcomed us, we have yet to find any sign of Mim, which is concerning. We searched under both beds, behind the sofa, behind the fridge, in every closet, under the washer and dryer... I even crawled into the crawl space after Juice, but it's like she ceased to exist. We had cat sitters coming by during the week, but they only ever saw John and Juice, which is not unusual, but after being home for nine hours with no signs or sounds of movement, it's hard not to assume the worst. Julie made eggs and hash; I tried to distract myself with youtube and a little bit of WoW, in which I played through the Pandaren starting area in Cataclysm Classic before trying to get some rare drops with the collector's bounty buff. (I did at least get Ashes of Al'ar successfully, so that's one of the really rare ones checked off, at least.) I should go to bed now.

2024

Friday: had to get up early for a telehealth doctor's appointment, during which we determined that I needed to have a sleep specialist check my C-PAP machine to confirm it's still in good working order. I was able to schedule a same-day appointment, but before that—I finished the Dawntrail Main Story Quests! I was quite pleased with how it all played out. Once that was done, I drove to Subway for lunch before heading down to the Jefferson Navy Yard center. I also stopped into Acme for my prescription and some cat treats. Back home, I vacuumed the bedrooms before starting dinner, during which I boiled some small potatoes, boiled some corn, and prepared six of Onstad's flavor burgers. Julie continued watching Sex and the City, so I ate in the office and prepared this update while I watched an Ace Attorney stream vod.

2023

Wednesday: after my late night trying to figure out how to make a browser extension do what I want, I wound up waking up right before I had to start work. My shift consisted of a continuous stream of calls from the departments I'm backing up. On my first break, I took a shower and got dressed; over lunch, I gave the cats treats because there's no telling how much longer Cliff will be staying over. I had a couple of chicken sandwiches and watched a video about the board game Ticket to Ride and its expansions. Julie went to the stylist and got a hair dye: it's a subtle shade of purple. After she got back, she made this meaty pasta dish with nuts in it for dinner. She'd been watching Dr Katz, Professional Therapist earlier in the week, but tonight she stuck with a podcast interview about Arrested Development. I took out the cat litter before catching up on quests in Hearthstone. I was going to get back onto that extension work (or perhaps even my IF project), but I was overdue on yesterday's extensive update, so I decided to write that up before sending an email to my coworkers from INTRUST, as we're approaching the one year anniversary of my departure from that job.
