2026

Monday: got to sleep last night around midnight; got out of bed this morning by 6:30. (Today is Moon Monday, and it's also our last free Monday before our Monday Night Quizzo resumes.) After posting my into- and out-of-bed times, I logged into work to try to catch up on my groups. This was time well-spent, and the day was very productive. Julie encouraged me via text to shut off the air and open the windows, though it also spent some time raining in the afternoon. Once she got back and I finished my shift, we grabbed the dinner she'd made: that meat and potato curry over rice she used to make before we had more authentic curry ingredients available to us. We watched more Kill La Kill while we ate, and I spent another few hours with Zero Parades afterward. Feels like I'm roughly 66% finished, though this playthrough has been more of a bee-line than a complete survey. Tried to get into bed before 1 AM.

2025

Sunday: this would have been a good day to catch up on my projects or chores around the house, and in fairness, I did manage to vacuum and make the pizzas for dinner. I spent most of the day playing through career mode in Umamusume, though, including watching some of the interminable story mode while I sliced an overabundance of peppers. (In the actual game, I finally got set up in Bachelor's social club, and I managed to get the good ending for several of the racers: Gold Ship, Sakura Bakushin O, Mejiro McQueen, and El Condor Pasa, specifically.) A headache threatened to waylay Julie, so she self-medicated, and as a result, she spent most of the day listening to her DS9 audiobook before watching Star Trek in the evening. Oh, and there was also the first half of the playthrough of A Rope of Chalk on youtube, which included a link to the Jay Essen Plays Patreon account.

2024

Saturday: first of three days at work before vacation. Plenty of chat support requests, but I enjoyed the workday; I dodged all the chaos from the global Crowdstrike outage yesterday. Julie spent the afternoon doing stuff in the kitchen, but since I was just finishing my sandwich from Newbold Cafe from yesterday for lunch, neither of us was in the other's way. She went to see Dave Matthews Band in the evening, but as soon as my shift ended, I indulged in a series of naps with cats around the apartment. I wound up sleeping through my free company's photo night in FFXIV. After Julie got back, she regaled me with the disappointing aspects of her night out—the unsatisfying meal, the fact that she's decided she doesn't like jam bands, her sore muscles from the walk after spending the day standing in the kitchen. For dinner, I finished my salad while watching the conclusion of Preach's Dawntrail MSQ journey, and moved then onto the start of Jesse Cox's. But now, John demands I go treat him in the kitchen again, so off I go.

2023

Thursday: had a package of instant ramen for lunch, perhaps for the last time?? I spent all my time at work thinking about the Firefox extension I worked on last night, and I spent all my free time aimlessly bouncing between streams and videos. I finished my work project for the week and got back to calls, but only for the last hour of the day, which was alright. Julie had a headache thanks to the weather, so she just made spagehetti and meatballs for dinner. After dinner I napped for a while in the bedroom with Mim before coming in here to check on my forum post about my extension. Then, I finished my Hearthstone daily quest and posted this update, and I will be off to bed in a moment.

2022

Wednesday: a few of my fellow trainees at work told me that I should be on the radio, or I should record myself reading announcements or a book. As Anna put it, "I'm just saying, you could totally do one of those bedtime meditation recordings and make some money... it's just so soothing and reassuring." Shayla thought that I was secretly a rehire like Pax, and I just hadn't admitted this to anyone, yet.
