Tuesday: though Julie went into work today, I resisted the urge to pick up lunch at the halal cart. It's unusual for me to refrain in this manner. The workday itself was fine, other than the feeling that the rate at which my workload is increasing is accelerating relative to the rate at which I'm clearing tasks from my to-do list. The trend concerns me. I'm watching more episodes of a Blue Prince playthrough on my breaks. After my shift ended, Julie and I donned warm jackets and rainwear to go to Santucci's, where the trivia was Thanksgiving-themed. Julie was proud of the team name she came up with: "Horny of Plenty". Though we had the best-scoring music round and a strong first round of questions, we couldn't identify many of the movies in the picture round, and the final question round dropped us into third place overall. Now that we're home, I'm catching up on my updates to this website over the past week or two: I've gotten too sporadic about my updates. It's a problem, possibly spurred on by the stressful work season. When I finish here, I think I'll try to play a little bit of the Legion Remix ongoing event as a treat.
Monday: wow, I fell way behind this week! The shadow of the upcoming holiday (and the Black Friday/Cyber Monday behind it) are looming large at my workplace. After work, the two of us hit up our weekly Quizzo, and we once again tied for third place... but this time, I knew the answer to two of the tiebreaker questions. ("What is the term for the wife of the sultan?" and "What is the opposite of aestivation?" For the answers, scroll down to the entry from 1982.) Still going as hard as possible at giving out gifts in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp before the shut down in a couple of days.
Saturday: call volume was pretty high, but since I was helping with chat support, I avoided at least a few hours at the beginning and end of my shift. Julie made clam chowder and toasted cheese sandwiches for lunch, and once my shift ended, we walked down the street to see the chaos on the Miracle on South 13th Street. (There's a streth of south 13th that goes all-out on decorating for Christmas, and when the season starts, they block the road and have a big party with lights, and music, and a little train that drives around the block. It's a cool event, but it's not really for us since we don't have kids, and it snarls traffic something fierce. I took a video fo some of the sights and sounds this year.)
Back home, we watched more Good Omens while we finished the last of the beef and vegetable stew. I'd gotten the electric blanket out during the day, and it was very nice to enjoy that heat when I came to bed.

Thursday: at Richard and Glen's for Thanksgiving again. This year, we had a charcuterie board and Detroit-style pizza. ("Sauce on top," in Julie's words.) I rescinded my recommendation for Cultist Simulator for reasons which I cannot go into.

My closest cousin when I was growing up had his first child, today!
Saturday: we went to Vietnom Nom for dinner, where Julie had her usual bahn mi. (The ancient records do not report my entree. Julie said the fries were amazing and she'd go back to try their pho. That means I didn't have pho myself, so I probably had something with fried rice.) After dinner, we stopped by Freezing Roll Rolling Ice Cream on the southeast corner of the New Market Square intersection. (This is one of those places where they pour out your flavor mix onto a super-cold surface, cut the sheet into pieces, and then roll the frozen strips up to put in your bowl.) I was very excited for a S'mores adaptation into ice cream, and it was cool to look at all the photos on the walls of the staff and their families from when it had opened earlier this year. I don't think we got to go back here before the place closed, though, which I've always felt a little sad about.
Friday: it was cold outside the townhouse, but the windows must have been warm enough that Koop and John both perched in the front window long enough for me to snap a photo.

Tuesday: it seems like this was the trip that confirmed for Julie her disinterest in skiing as an activity. If I'm remembering right, we went to Copper Mountain, where all the training classes had ended for the day, and all the green-rated slopes were closed. It was a perilous and frustrating experience, and we wound up waiting for ski staff to take us back down. Julie had a LJ post for today that makes me wonder about the exact timing of these events, though:
"I finished my thesis, made my revisions and had it to everyone by 1 pm. This was after staying up until 3 am, getting back up at 6 am and running basically on caffeine. I felt pretty sick by the end of it. And then I went to work for 3 hours to try and not loose too many hours.
"And now it's off to Colorado to spend the holiday with Jason's family!"
