Friday: it's more specifically Black Friday. I thought I was in for an awful workday, and while I did have a fair number of calls in the first part of the day, I was able to sort a bunch of Trade Sanctions emails during my workload and lay out my expected time commitment to resolve the most urgent to leadership, so by lunchtime, my boss told me to take 30 minutes when I get back and finish those up. By the time I was done with those, call volume for Resolutions was low enough that I could continue working emails for the rest of the day. This was everything I could have hoped for.

Julie had also gone into the office to replace her faulty laptop, so we were anticipating a stressful day, and we only really wanted to decompress with our respective interests, so she started a rewatch of Veronica Mars, while I played more of the World of Warcraft anniversary event battlegrounds while watching the video of one of my fellow Moondrop Isle authors attempt to play through the game on his twitch channel. (Since twitch vods expire over time, I'll just link the youtube version whenever he gets around to completing it.) It was very rewarding to see someone else play through the game and get caught on several of the obstacles that usually blocked me from progressing; I should make my own video, some day.

2023

Wednesday: this was my Friday, and it's the longest one of my work weeks has felt in a long time. We've still got one more week of our big seasonal promotion, but after that we'll dive right into our busy season, the only moments of rest coming up are the many days of vacation I had to schedule for December. I have at least two interactive fiction projects I want to finish during this period.

Anyway, work itself wasn't so bad today since I didn't have to do much to catch up on my projects. Julie had to go out to a center in the afternoon, and after she finished, she met up with a friend at a new restaurant, so I had the first half of my share of the leftover meatloaf and accompaniment for dinner. Joseph Anderson has been streaming Va-11 Hall-A for the last two days, so I caught up on those while I ate, and it's been pretty gratifying to see him turning against some of the more regrettable trends in his chat. (While it's a game that I like in the abstract, I've never been thrilled with how Va-11 Hall-A handles some of its themes and characters. I couldn't really articulate this well until watching today's stream, in which he called the game out for not having earned the use of its more controversial material.)

Tomorrow we should have a possible cat-sitter coming by to get acquainted so she can cover our trip in December, so I've got cleaning to do before I can go shopping. I should crash.
