Tuesday: after my late night, I rolled out of bed at 7 and treated the cats before work. This is the first week in months in which I've had less than twenty rework groups, but my pending list is getting a little bit long. Fortunately, I've revised how I approach my workload on a per-day basis to better get through my list, so I'm happy with where I'll be by Thursday.
Breaks today involved a shower, a walk to the halal cart, a bit of following John around to give him the attention he was demanding, and some Grinding Gear footage of Peaceful Rest Valley in EarthBound and midgame FFV, plus the latest CastleSuperBeast podcast. Kind of wanted to nap on my second break, but there wasn't time.
As soon as I was in a quitting spot after my shift, I got changed for Santucci's trivia. Karly's post indicated that this week's Quizzo would be Super Bowl-themed, and since we couldn't come up with anything on the way over, Julie had us play as "Puppy Bowl >>>> Super Bowl". Her last-minute studying paid off, as we were leading for most of the game, but we ended up again tying for second and third; this time around, she successfully confirmed the highest single-team score in Super Bowl history as 55 points, so we got second. They included the bacon on our pizza properly this week, so all in all, it was a satisfying evening.
Once we got home, I brought out the bags of garbage to the curb, but we had to just line them up on the hard-packed snowbank that lines the sidewalk. I guess they removed the snow piles lining Broad Street today, but none of the roads nearbye have been very cleared yet. I decided to end the day by posting updates again, and tomorrow morning, I'd like to see if I can start working on a game to be finished this same month. I forgot to mention this the other day, but Ryan posted this video about "word transformation" puzzle design for EnigMarch, and his recommendation that you should capitalize on your enthusiasm to work on the idea that energizes you has stayed with me. I really do need to do that.
Monday: it should have been a typical workday, but the severity of John's digestive distress made it pretty hard to focus on anything but trying to help him out. I ate my salad for lunch. He got into the basement a couple of times. We got to relive our Mosaic days when we bathed him. While it seemed like we helped him out, his improvement didn't extend so far as having any appetite, so we couldn't bring ourselves to leave for trivia. I had leftover soup for dinner.
Saturday: the work week started without incident. Julie went out for a game night with some girls as my shift was ending, so I had leftover spaghetti for dinner. It's not tremendously cold, but I found myself needing something more insulating than socks but more breathable than my heavy duty slippers, so I broke out a throw we'd never yet gotten out of its packaging. While I ate, I found myself preoccupied with some FFXIV streams. That preoccupation lasted into the late evening, so I did not accomplish anything of note, though I did spend a while playing with the cats and replacing the filter on the cat fountain. A note for future reference: the extra filters are on the bottom shelf of the kitchen island. I wouldn't know this for another day, but apparently Julie also ordered the complete Poirot series on DVD when she bought the filters, so that's on its way as well.
Friday: Given the likelihood she'd be out of the house over the weekend, Julie and I decided to play Civ VI while we finished our leftover pizza. Afterwards, I posted the last few days' updates on here and made an attempt at the Hearthstone Brawliseum event, since I had a surplus of gold and winning three matches would unlock an exclusive hero skin. While I was able to win my first three matches easily, securing the reward, the rest of the night was a wash, as I lost every single additional game I played, whether in the Brawliseum or not. After a performance that poor, I went to bed.
Are these friend codes still valid? They were DA-9980-7115-7760 and SW-5837-9374-6589. One of them is for Switch, but what's the other? Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or something else?

I launched Frozen Synapse on Steam today. I wouldn't do so again for (at least??) a decade.

Tuesday: my post on facebook indicated that I'd be playing a lot of Wii Fit this month. Julie had an update of her own on LJ: "Sunday I got the stomach flu. Talk about a fun weekend! I went home from work early and didn't go at all yesterday. I'm feeling better now, but I hadn't felt that crappy in a long time. And I don't think I'll be eating swiss steak for a while. Hopefully this is the bad thing that will happen to me in February, to keep that lovely streak going."
