Wednesday: since today was supposed to mark the start of my productive mornings of personal project-work, I suppose I should report how that went. It went great! I did sleep in until almost 7, but once John roused me for his morning treats, I brought the snack into the office and got to work as soon as the cats were fed. Most of my efforts went to restoring the starting template file I use for my interactive fiction projects, but I did start the project file for the game I want to try to make entirely in February. Unfortunately, I won't be able to work on it tomorrow, as I want to spend tomorrow morning doing as many new groups as possible.
Nothing of note transpired on my shift. Breaks included a quick shower, ongoing Final Fantasy V footage, a buffalo chicken salad (alas), ongoing Tears of the Kingdom footage, and a lot of online discussion about the "Year of the Scarab" core set adjustments coming to Hearthstone that they announced this afternoon. (The big news is that Shadowstep is finally being taken out of standard. Complaints flooded the subreddit about the lowered core set power level because the cards being taken out are more efficient or effective than the cards that are being added to replace them. I think it should be an interesting format.)
After work, Julie and I finished the vegetable pasta while watching the final season 2 episode of Fallout. I liked it, but I agree with Pat's take: this is a Surf Dracula situation. Played some Animal Crossing after we finished, in which I set up a skyscraper-themed hotel room and a paint studio vacation home for Skye. Finally, I treated the cats, posted this update, and went to bed.
Tuesday: taking John to the vet today, but fortunately his digestive issues were just constipation. They helped rehydrate him and try to stimulate his appetite, along with the laxative we'll administer three times daily. We thought it might be too stressful for him in the carrier, but when I tried to wrap him in towels and carry him on my lap, he managed to urinate directly on my jeans.
Once we got home and I started my laundry, I went back out to get groceries and lunch. Instead of tins of tuna, I picked up some wet food, which John seems to have enjoyed. They gave us an extra wrap at Taco Bell, and while eating, I played some Hearthstone to finally finish the Starcraft event quests. Julie's got an oncoming headache due to the weather, and we're still both a little frazzled from the panic around John's condition, so it was a very unproductive evening. (I did manage to set up an email address and Google account for a project I'd been thinking about undertaking, though my graphic design is pretty rudimentary.)
Sunday: as a distracted man once said, "my focus is all crocused." Other than my state of inattention, work went fine, and afterwards we went to the gym. I spent my time there reading through a bunch of Bruno Dias's blog. Back home, Julie'd gotten that southwest chicken salsa over rice dish in the slow cooker, and we watched more Murder, She Wrote while we ate. I stayed up too late watching Endwalker content. (See again the aforementioned issues of distraction described above.)
Saturday: looks like Julie's projections proved correct, as she went with Phil to a pizza place 45 minutes north of our normal operating area. She got back as I was napping in the living room to drop off the leftovers and went out again; meanwhile, I roused myself around 10 to treat the cats and have more goulash. I sent my Little Match Girl 3 transcript to Ryan in the Patreon discord and talked through the bugs I'd noticed. Julie got back and regaled me with the stories of her evening: the weirdness of the pizza place, the celebrity photos on the walls, her adventures with Uber afterwards. Once she'd crashed, I saw that our Final Fantasy XIV Free Company leader was finally back from their extended medical recovery, so I jumped in the game... but rather than get to hang out with anybody or even just catch up on the Big Cactpot or Valentione's Day events, I continued plugging away at the Main Story Quests. (My progress this time took me from investigating the Final Days in Radz-at-Han to collecting the last of my missing aetherial currents in Thavnair. I found myself really appreciating the music and mood in Radz-at-Han.)
Not sure why, but the office seems extra-cluttered lately, and I haven't been able to muster the wherewithal to vacuum yet. One of the comforters has fallen halfway off the bed, but the cats like getting under the bed to sleep on the folded-under lip. I guess I'll fix it Tuesday.

Sunday: we went to Scott & Jenny's for Knox's first birthday; a bunch of their family and friends were there.
Saturday: happened to try the Anchor for dinner for the first time in six years. It happened to be a fight night again, meaning they had a limited menu. Disappointing, but Julie still enjoyed her fried pickle and haystack.
