Thursday: dreamed about an uncomfortable figure that I'd like to call Pipe-Cleaner Frank, who teaches lessons about denying bodily autonomy to children and pets. Veiled threats and disappearances were enough to make the experience very unsettling, and I was already forgetting most of the details as I was waking up. I treated the cats in the office before lying down for another hour or so.
Eventually, I did get out of bed again, and I got right to work. I got a lot done, today, at least in terms of the first half of the day. My attention seemed to wander once I was bouncing between groupwork and taking calls. On my breaks, I took a shower, watched the Grinding Gear guys take on the later stages of FFV, and ate my salad. I thought I was going to have more meat than needed and suffer a shortage of lettuce, but the opposite turned out to be the case. I'm glad I was pacing myself with the meat even though I didn't think I'd need to.
As soon as work ended, I went to the bed and made a tent for John, since he'd been trying to get Julie to do that when she'd been in the room. The moment he got himself situated, Isabel took the opportunity to vomit on my desk, but I was trapped and couldn't clean it up. I thought Julie might help me out, but she was somewhere in the other room, and I ended up just falling asleep like that until after 8 PM. Once we were both up again, I cleaned up the desk, and then we finished off the scalloped potatoes for dinner. It was late enough that we decided not to try to watch anything together, and I just played some Hearthstone while watching an FFXIV 7.4 stream vod. I decided I should log into FFXIV myself (for the Valentione's event, if nothing else; it's got a cake-decorating minigame this year). Before I could get to far, Julie called my phone to ask for help getting out from under the cats in the living room. She turned out to have both John and Juice on top of her, but they soon scattered. I treated everybody before finishing up with the event and unloading some of my housing decorations that I'd never put in my Free Company room. The downside to all this is that I ended up staying up until after 1 AM before I realized I still hadn't written this update, so now I'm doing so before I go to bed.
Wednesday: had another late night such that I didn't really do anything with my morning. I can't tell that the laxative is doing anything for John, but he did resume eating his little tuna spoon snacks, so that's an enormous relief. I had some leftover salad for lunch, and for dinner, I made the veggie pasta with feta using the actual broiler. (In previous apartments, our oven didn't have the broiler drawer at the bottom, so we're accustomed to "broil" being a setting on the oven itself.) It worked well! Didn't wind up eating until after 8, so we just entertained ourselves, which means that I watched more of the Joseph Anderson Umineko streams while running timewalking dungeons in World of Warcraft.
Monday: a few calls, but mostly project work, including a new research responsibility. I shaved on my second break, but I should have replaced my razor head first, as I lacerated my chin. At Quizzo, our streak finally ended thanks to the team His Royal Oncologist beating us by like one point. This time around the picture rounds were based on an article about the fifty best movies associated somehow with Philadelphia, and thanks to some study sheets Julie prepared, we didn't miss a single point in either picture round. Phil and the Moodys had both already eaten, so Julie and I had the salad and pizza to ourselves. Back home, I fell asleep on the floor for a while, but I managed to get to bed shortly after 1 AM.
Sunday: after work, Julie made a soup with orecchiette pasta. Really good with parmesan. We played more Civ VI, though nothing stood out about the game. After she went to bed, I played more Final Fantasy XIV, starting right before they send you to revisit the Crystarium and ending shortly after a flying lesson from an unexpected tutor.

Every time I log into Puzzle Pirates goes something like this: I try to remember if I have an account I should use. I get set up somehow. I try to find my way to a tavern where I can play Treasure Drop. Nobody wants to play with me, or they take one look at my stats and assume I'm some sort of smurf account. I log out of Puzzle Pirates.
Anyway, that's what I did today.
