Saturday: couldn't quite stop myself from dipping into Unicorn Overlord last night (after spending more than an hour moving files to external storage and completing the installation). It's pretty good! The story's bad, but it gets out of the way, and everything else is very satisfying.
After I woke up, I thought it was nearly nine, but it was actually nearly 8, so I clocked into work an hour early by mistake. I didn't even notice the issue until it was actually time for me to clock in.
Julie was nursing a headache, but with heavy rain moving into the area, she managed to get to the store again in time to bring back Taco Bell for my lunch break. After the first couple of hours of project time, I got reassigned to nonstop calls for the rest of the day, so I appreciated not having to spend time making my own lunch.
Once I finished for the day, we reconnected long enough to trade bugs for the latest Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp gardening event. Finally had to start putting more of my furniture in the in-game warehouse to make more room in my inventory. Afterwards, I cooked a couple of pizzas for dinner, but I think the sausage flavor wasn't quite what I wanted, so I'll skip the "Italian sausage" style next time.
While we ate, we watched more Poirot. I liked the episode where the old hardliner tells Poirot he's going to rewrite his will to give all his wealth to his feminist ward just before he's murdered. I also played enough Hearthstone to finish the anniversary event and gained a few ranks with Mean Streets of Gadgetzan-era pirate rogue in Twist.
After we finished with the murder mysteries, we watched the latest Ghosts episode, and this was my favorite of the season so far. (It's the Halloween episode in which a new ghost shows up which resolves a storyline from the earlier seasons.) Now that Julie's gone to bed and it's after midnight, I've got to copy a couple of memories from facebook into the entries for tomorrow, and then I'll play maybe an hour more of Unicorn Overlord. I'll be doing more programming and writing after work tomorrow before our weekly sewing circle.
Thursday: feels like my project is winding down, which is unfortunate as this has been the most I've enjoyed this job since I started. I had more salad for dinner, since Julie was out this evening at POPE and the Jim. The cats have been getting a little antsy lately, and I'm hoping Cliff's arrival this weekend will be a nice change of pace for them.

While I do not recommend playing The Castle Doctrine (in part due to things said by its creator), I did find the process of setting up traps in a house compelling enough to play for more than 40 hours back around 2014. There was an update to the online design which gave players incentive to log in which drew some people back in, and in a moment of weakness, I launched the game myself. (Mostly, though, I just rewatched Aavak's LP series, which is probably the optimal way to engage with the game...)
I also launched Aseprite today for some reason.

I gave Pillars of Eternity a bunch of chances up until today, but despite making more progress than ever before, I could not bring myself to care about it. I eventually deleted it off my laptop.

Sunday: I rode home from some church activity with a couple of the guys who were a year ahead of me in school. The ride in Chris's truck left enough of an impression that I had to update my journal: I needed readers to understand how shocked I was that one of the teenagers in the vehicle might express his desire to get laid using crude language. It's a little painful to read these early updates because I clearly took myself very seriously, but my writing skills were just garbage. (That hasn't changed.)
