Tuesday: got out of bed in time for this How the Little Match Girl Met the Queen of Vampires stream, after which I walked to the Halal Gyro cart for a chicken and shrimp platter. I ended up napping in the egg chair around the time Julie got home from work, but I got up in time to get the litter before we had to leave for our monthly Latchkey/POPE trivia. The weather was nice enough that we passed dozens of pedestrians, and the new Supèrette that opened in the old butcher shop was packed. Once we got to the bar and got seated in our usual spot, I ordered my typical burger, while Julie continued with... whatever she's been ordering lately, plus the crispy garbonzos again. Between rounds, I reread some entries on Bret Devereaux's website which I felt would be of use when planning a future game that I've been thinking about lately. (This would not be the game I'd like to release this year, or even the game I'm preparing to finish for next year. I have more than three irons in this particular fire.) While we didn't have the best performance when answering the questions about 1997, we thought we handled the music lyrics round a lot better. The scoring didn't quite bear that out, but we did strongly enough in the "movies about driving" round get first place in the singles/duos category for the third month in a row, and fifth place overall. After we walked back home, I got the rest of the trash, after which the cats needed to be treated, and I put on a random collection of old videos from my neglected "watch later" playlist while preparing this update.
Monday: it was a stressful weekend at work, and today that trend continued. At the end of the day, I took over floorwalking and did a new mini-project for another manager, so that was pleasant.
After work, Julie's headache was still giving her hell, so we decided to pass on Quizzo tonight. I hit the bedrooms with a vacuum while she threw together the fried udon pasta she makes sometimes, and we watched more Poirot. I liked the episode where people think Poirot is actually a guy they're supposed to identify for a newspaper promotional sweepstakes.
When we were done watching TV, I introduced Julie to Balatro, and while she was pretty hesitant at first, she's starting to really enjoy it, particularly since once I started playing myself, I was doing a lot worse than she was. If she starts actually buying card packs instead of just buying five jokers and then sitting on her cash, she'll get even better.
Saturday: we went to Chipotle for lunch before shopping at Acme. After getting back home, we finished the main basement cleanup operation and moved a bunch of the empty cardboard boxes we still had under the stairway to prevent the cats from getting back there again. For dinner, I had some leftover salad, but I depleted my entire dressing supply in the process. Wound up having a real hard time getting to sleep thanks to cat shenanigans, so Sunday morning's kind of a blur.

Sunday: we went with Courtney and Jess and the boys to see Game Night in theaters, since this is the group we have game nights with. It was cute.

Wednesday: this was the day I happened to snap a photo of four of our cats on the table while we were renting my great aunt's house. Left to right, we have John Doe, Koop (on chair, facing window), Isabel (on table, facing window) and Frank.
This was the official launch date for Hearthstone. I had already been playing it thanks to the open beta, but I played it today, too.

Tuesday: so at this point, I'm a few weeks away from turning 15, and the complicated feelings of adolescence have asserted themselves. I'm too awkward to flirt or initiate conversations with the girls I'm interested in, though, so I spend a lot of time walking around town, trying to come up with ways to make myself more interesting and approachable. I took such a walk today, more than five miles total, and I spent a lot of that time thinking that this would all be so much easier if I'd just started out at a different elementary school. The journal entry I wrote about all of this is a bit painful to read.
