Friday: I woke up at 2 AM, and after tossing and turning for an hour, I went out to the living room to lie in the egg chair and play mobile games with various cats on top of me. Eventually Julie came out to start her workday, so I got washed up, had some cereal, and went to work myself.
Today's distractions on my breaks/lunch was the collective response to the first 7.5 Letter from the Producer for Final Fantasy XIV. Sounds like the initial update is scheduled for April 28, but a lot of specifics for 7.55 and 7.56 have to wait until after the FanFest events complete during the summer. For the rest of my workday, I struggled through reworked groups, but I didn't make as much progress as I would have liked. I'm probably going to have to work this weekend.
After work, we did our best to finish off the goulash for dinner, but various cats and phone calls meant we didn't start eating until almost 8 PM. Julie continued watching her Austen adaptations, while I found all my evening plans hijacked by an Endwalker playthrough. Can't stay up late as I have to go to PENNDOT tomorrow for a new DL, but at ten minutes 'til 12, I was still writing these updates.
Thursday: between an interview, a briefing, and a bunch of last-minute trade sanctions work, I managed to avoid having any calls today. I watched the Hearthstone "Into the Emerald Dream" theorycrafting stream on my breaks. During my shift, a workman came by to check on a leak we'd reported to the landlord last week, and an early birthday present from my parents arrived. (I'd asked for a new computer microphone, as my headset's awful for recording purposes.) We went to the gym after work, where I walked at an aggressive pace for 40 minutes while reading more of Mike Russo's Counterfeit Monkey playthrough commentary.
Back home, we had leftover taco soup for dinner, during which I continued watching footage of this 13 Sentinels playthrough, and once I finished eating, I started these updates.
Wednesday: spent my day at work getting wrapped up on projects and preparing my out-of-office messaging, as my vacation began as soon as my shift ended. (Website updates over the next week or two may get a little bit spotty depending on how our scheduling lines up.) During my lunch break, I watched some of the Whizbang's Workshop theorycrafting streams for the new Hearthstone expansion. Julie made spaghetti for dinner, and I brought my laptop out to the living room so that once we were done watching Poirot, she could play Balatro while I tried to catch up in Unicorn Overlord. (Started with the big siege for the end of the first chapter. Assuming the top of the map is north, I moved into the territory to the southeast once I was prompted to choose which area to go to next.) It was too nice to play an engaging game on the TV while lying on the sofa after Julie went to bed with cats on top of me, and I couldn't get myself to go to bed until very late.
Monday: everybody's still a little on edge from Cliff being back in circulation, but he seems to be adapting well. I left the piano uncovered, so Julie finally saw that I'd set it up in the office, and I confirmed I still have the box in the basement for transportation. I was able to finish up a couple of Disco Elysium streams and switch over to Joseph Anderson's Deadly Premonition videos instead. At work, my projects continue, for now. I was expecting something worse this week, but so far, so good. For dinner, Julie made a risotto dish that I jokingly described as "my nut-and-scallion orzo through a funhouse mirror," but it was really good. Now I'm up too late, but that's how it goes.

Friday: when we went to Side Pockets for dinner, it was too nice not to eat outside. That did mean we had to deal with eating around active smokers, but it wasn't enough of an issue for us to relocate. (Add in the antics of the drunks, and it was like dinner with a show.)

Saturday: somehow managed to misplace my phone on our first day in Michigan. It wound up being in the cushions of Julie's parents' sofa.
