Friday: spent most of the night staying up with Cliff and resupplying him with tuna to lick whenever he felt like moving into the kitchen. This morning, I brought him back to the vet, who confirmed his temperature was still high, so they recommended bringing him to the ER, where they could do a more detailed ultrasound. I had to take a couple trips back and forth to bring the MACU credit card, but we got it taken care of. The vet called back while I was browning the meat for chili to confirm that our worst fears were confirmed, and his digestive issues and current discomfort were all caused by tumors, and the severity of the situation was such that surgical intervention wasn't an option, so our only recourse was to put him to sleep. This time around, at least, we remembered to request some of his fur after we'd said our farewells.
After we got back home, I finished putting the chili together in the slow cooker. After that, we cleaned up the basement one last time, which makes us feel pretty guilty about not arranging to bring the cats in sooner if they were having litterbox irregularities. I ran a load of laundry, and we put Schitt's Creek back on while we ate to have something simple but distracting on in the background. I played a little Hearthstone and Balatro and 20 Small Mazes since I didn't want to focus much on the show. I moved the comforter in the bag over go the ottoman so that John would lie next to me, which he did. We're down to five cats today.

Wednesday: took a quick trip to the store in the morning, after which I dropped my laptop off with a guy to address the fan issues I wasn't able to solve myself. Still watching that 13 Sentinels stream.

Tuesday: this appears to be the date of my first tumblr post. The literal first sentence I typed was to acknowledge that my attempt to organize the development of Exquisite Knorpse 3 was failing, but at least the people of the Brontoforums were enjoying our "Vampires vs Werewolves 8" web game.
Before work, Julie watched me struggle through the last third of Grand Theft Auto 4. She's been playing GTA San Andrea, but the mandatory flight school missions proved frustrating enough to block her progress, especially since she's already completed most of the optional collections offered in the game.
As Julie left for work, we permitted our cats Frank and Angel to enjoy the sun on the deck for a bit. I don't love letting them out since we're right next to a high-traffic road, and when Angel gets to the bottom of the steps, she wants to sneak onto the neighbor's patio, and I don't like walking up to their sliding glass doors to retrieve her.
I applied for several jobs on Craigslist and Careerbuilder.
Once I let myself get disctracted from the job hunt, I spent some time hanging out with the cats: Frank was cleaning John's ears on the bed, and when I wandered out of the office, Koop and Angel followed me to voice their desire to get outside. A neighbor happened to be walking his dog just at the bottom of the staircase, though, so they reconsidered their plan pretty quickly.
I've been going over to CHESM on Tuesdays, lately. We'd usually see Lylandra and Stacey, but they couldn't make it this week. It seems like I must have logged into World of Warcraft to work on the reputation grind for the "Insane in the Membrane" achievement I was pursuing, as my tumblr post describes collecting fabric and fighting pirates for reputation. Carl and Emit were excited to continue playing RIFT, and while I liked some of the aesthetics and character customization options, I wasn't sold on it.
I felt like a mooch tonight, since Carl treated me to dinner (Chinese), and Emit treated me to McDonalds a few hours later—and then Haley, Carl, and Steve all had things they wanted to loan me. The first Game of Thrones book, some random Japanese Wii game, and Dragon Age 2, respectively. Steve is pretty excited by Dragon Age 2; he’s already played it through and beaten it, but he went ahead and bought a second copy, since his first one wasn’t the special edition.
After I got home, I created my tumblr account! I couldn't have predicted that, nearly 12 years later, I'd be considering leaving tumblr because of how transphobic its leadership has become!
