Wednesday: had my Friday of catching up on projects, after which we had the leftover rice stirfry. We watched the final (?) episode of Ghosts, followed by another interminable Poirot movie. This one was all about secret morphine addicts. Afterwards, I pretty quickly fell asleep in the living room before getting up long enough to go to bed in the office. I've been preparing for Fallen London's "Whitsun" event, but more importantly I need to work on MI since we have more testing info.
Monday: got up early and got a haircut, some fast food, and made good on my threat to buy a new Switch controller. This time I picked up the actual "pro controller" style, replacing the red GameCube-style controller style which is probably still packed up in one of the boxes we didn't feel the need to break into after our move. While I was at the store, I preordered The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and then made it home just in time for work. My new project kept me pretty busy, but it was nice to put some music on in the background for once. As soon as work got out, I booted up the Switch and got into Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the first time in months, and I had a salad since Julie was at trivia.

Saturday: watched some terrible movies ("The Terminators" and "Mega Piranha"). I assume this was at CHESM, since Julie said I left my phone at home. We also considered how ominous it is to be six months away from our wedding.
Julie had a lot to talk about on livejournal today. As she said:
"Can someone explain to me why on all these house hunting shows people keep orgasming over granite countertops and stainless steel appliances? For some people it's such a deal breaker and it seems so ridiculous. They walk in and go, "NO GRANITE COUNTERTOPS?! WHITE APPLIANCES?! AW HELL I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS SHIT!" Who cares? I'd be thrilled to walk into a kitchen and find that appliances are included and as long as they aren't from the 1950's, as long as they work I'd be fine with that as it is one less thing I'd have to buy. I didn't even opt for the updated kitchen in these apartments because I've been cooking on "outdated" appliances for roughly five years now and haven't had a single problem. And these people walking into 100 year old homes complaining about closet space and "What? No master suite? Why is this master bedroom no bigger than the others?!" That's not how it worked then. People didn't deem it necessary to have master suites that span the entire second floor of a house. And don't even get me started on the guy who would just DIE if he didn't have a three car garage. YOU ONLY HAVE TWO CARS AND WHEN YOU MOVED IN YOU BUILT YOUR WORKBENCH IN THE 2 CAR PART ANYWAY. WHAT. And the real estate people on these shows... how they do not strangle some of these people is beyond me. I like to think I'll be a much more educated home buyer and not so irritating to my realtor. Not to mention, I hate the way some people pronounce "realtor," as in when they pronounce it correctly.
"The check engine light came on in Bessie again so I took her in today and also to get the door looked at. They have to replace some sensors or something and it won't be ready until Tuesday but they are getting me another rental that I can pick up in the morning. Yay! I like this dealership, they are very good about helping me with loaners when it's going to be a long wait. Plus I keep dealing with the same guy and he remembers me from the week and a half ordeal in August. A whole bunch of other stuff came up that they told me about and I need to get a comprehensive list from them to decide how necessary any of it is. I opted to not get the door fixed since it's not really a big deal and it would be like $300. As much as I love Bessie, it would be nice to have a new car that has fewer maintenance issues. I already know what car I'd like next, but it's so out of my price range and Bessie still runs fine (as far as I can tell) that there is no point in pining over another car.
