2026

Saturday: just wanted to stay in bed, where I was dreaming that Carl and his brother were characters in a GTA-style crime videogame, and my participation in their activities involved stealing cars. I collected an overwrought table knife just before waking. After an hour or two shuffling around the apartment and treating cats, I drove us down Front Street to Taco Bell, where I won one wild ladder match as Quest Warlock, though I'm still in the low gold ranks. After we ate, we stopped into Aldi for the first time in a long while. (Decided not to try the intriguing crackers, but I did go for the sticks of gouda.) We then picked up our glasses, though I'd forgotten that the optometrist was opposite Ikea; I was expecting it to be next to the veterinary office. Ended up not bringing home any contact lenses this time, but I should check my receipts from our previous visit, as I might have paid for them already.

Once we did our shopping at Acme, I brought us home again, where I changed out the litter and vacuumed. Julie had wanted to find some VHS tapes that were in a box somewhere, so we searched the basement and the back corner of the office. I took the opportunity to wash the blanket I'd draped over the Casio, and while it was out in the open, I finally tried playing it for a while. Although we weren't able to find the tape of a workout routine Julie'd been looking for, we did locate it on youtube, so we did that marching routine for a bit. After Julie started dinner, we got cleaned up and prepared for our evening; we're going to eat dinner while watching Poirot, play some dominoes, and then I'll post the updates for the past couple of days.

(So how did it go? Julie made sausage and spinach penne with cheese, and we watched the Poirot episode in which the FBI agent is trying to catch a nightclub singer. We played some dominoes, but I got distracted by the Detroiters on the TV behind me, and Julie's altered state contributed to the absurdity of playing two-player Mexican Train. I folded my laundry, did the most abbreviated session of Tomodachi Life, and came in here to post this update.)

2025

Friday: I had my usual Friday, in which I spent as much time as possible trying to catch up on my workload for the week. I stopped working as soon as David called, and while I had some trouble hearing and understanding him, it was a fine talk, otherwise. Julie and I concluded our evening in the living room, having more leftovers, watching more Ghosts and Enterprise.

2024

Thursday: this afternoon, I eventually got around to leaving and went to Subway for lunch. I went to the store for groceries, but Acme was out of fresh dill, and that location didn't carry the pizza crusts we prefer, so I went up to Giant. Julie'd ordered more woodchip mulch to put in the front yard from Lowe's, and by the time I'd gotten everything from all three locations, it was approaching 5 PM. She made herself some pasta for dinner before she left for bocce. I had a salad (and used the last of my dressing) before the Moondrop Isle sewing started. I had an Aglaia raid stream on in the other window while I worked on putting more of these bug fixes into place.

2023

Tuesday: continued my Animal Crossing after work routine, in which Pietro was preparing to move out of town. I also dove into Final Fantasy XIV since my Island Sanctuary is making good progress. I also worked on patch content, went spelunking, etc. Finished my salad as Julie was at a comedy show.
