Tuesday: hit the snooze button a bunch this morning and did not get out of bed until it was time for work. Would have been nice to sleep in even longer, as our new spreadsheet had already been mishandled, so we had to wait for the team lead to rebuild it. Ended up not picking up new groups until lunchtime, at which point the only groups available were still 32 days out, so it looks like I'm stuck with nothing but reworks and Pending DSB groups until Thursday. Feels like the extra effort I put in to get ahead last week was unnecessary.
On breaks, I spent as much time as possible watching videos of people discussing their experiences with neurodivergence, with mental illness, with the systemic injustices of our society and its organizations, and with the use of art as an avenue toward mitigating the issues above. I know that I've been privileged in so many ways, but I'm also starting to realize the degree to which my approach to life has always been to minimize my exposure to circumstances which might put me at risk of experiencing trauma. Which is not to say that I haven't experienced my share; my "It Could Be Worse" Movement in high school was textbook Type 9-style "tank the hits and don't even flinch" philosophy. But my commitment to routines and to never taking anything that resembles a risk meant that I've experienced a narrow cross-section of what life has to offer. The shit that I've struggled with is inconsequential compared to the struggles of many of my peers. It doesn't make my struggle any less real, but it does make me feel silly for being unable to deal with such trivialities.
After work, Julie and I dressed for trivia, and we took the subway up to Santucci's. We're starting to see improvements to SEPTA facilities thanks to the World Cup next week, including new signage, extra staff, and redecorated train cars. There was a big crowd of people in suits on north Broad plus a significant police presence, but we never worked out the cause. We both commented on how remarkable it is now to be able to see into the building that had been under construction for the past year.
At Santucci's, we got to sit at our preferred table, where we once again split a pizza. The trivia this week was themed around cars, which meant a lot of questions about the Indianapolis 500, various carmakers, films with prominent scenes featuring an automobile, and a brutal final round that dropped us to third place.
Back home, I treated the cats with another tin from the clearance pack of Fancy Feast before starting on this update, but before I finished, I ended up watching Regis Killbin's first "Escape from Violet Hold" preview for Hearthstone, and I bought Mina the Hollower based on the discussion in the Brontoforums discord. No idea when I'm going to have time to play that, though. Kinda foolish.
Monday: finally finished up my reworks today, so I can start focusing on the rest of my work that's been piling up. We also got the first announcement for the new Hearthstone expansion (Un'Goro Crater Part Two, essentially), and the big Arena update everybody's cynical about. After work, we went to Stogie Joe's for trivia, and we were seated in the very back next to a couple of old ladies that didn't seem to appreciate how excited Julie got about major baseball plays. The trivia was very well positioned for millennials, but we forgot that Prague is further north than Paris. Ultimately, we ended up coming in second place, but we still picked up ice cream on the way home. I played some Occult Crescent in FFXIV, where I found the phantom ranger job crystal and reached knowledge level 8. (Of... 25, I think? I haven't looked into this much yet.)
Sunday: long workday but easy, napped in the bedroom afterward, ate more orzo, walked to the grocery store for cat treats and such, talked on the phone with my parents for a while, stayed up too late preparing Moondrop Isle fixes. Bed.
Friday: dramatic improvement in call volume for most of the day since the Memorial Day sales are over. My team's getting a slight reorganization next week. I did have one call that took up the last fifth of my workday that I won't forget about soon, but I was eventually done for the week. For some reason I got really interested in watching videos about this board game, Oath: Chronicles of Empire and Exile, which seems way too complex for me to introduce to any of the groups I might conceivably play it with. The videos were an enjoyable diversion, though.

Sunday: poor decisions and misfortune worked together to bring about an outcome in which I shattered my phone screen, today. It still worked pretty well, but the screen was appalling.
