2026

Friday: I had a productive workday, despite again emerging from bed less than an hour before the start of my shift. Got through almost all my new groups and a big chunk of my reworks; on breaks, I watched the PatStaresAt Pride Month marathon stream of Life Is Strange. Talked with David a bit after work. I may not have put much effort into exercising since last weekend, but at least we had a good Friday workout. For dinner, there was a little bit of leftover meatball pasta to finish, and I killed time waiting for Carl's game to start by playing more Vampire Survivors. (Unlocked both new characters successfully.) Carl's been too busy with work to prepare anything new for this week, though, so we just continued playing PC games in chat. Once Carl and I had both reached a stopping point, we played one round of Commander: him running a deck based on increasing numbers of +1/+1 counters, while I ran a proliferate deck. He managed to eke out a win, but now I must crash.

2025

Thursday: another busy day of catching up at work, followed by leftover spaghetti. Julie's bocce league is still up in the air after their purchase by an outside organization, so she stayed home, but she said I should still do my usual Thursday night routine. I didn't want to start pursuing the Tears of the Kingdom endgame when I'm not going to be able to play again for two weeks, so I just did more Unicorn Overlord, progressing further into Bastorias and clearing up the last combat events in Elheim. I'm not quite strong enough to finish the Coliseum, but I'm getting closer. I'm really enjoying this game.

2024

Wednesday: my last workday before a three day weekend! I'm very excited about this. Call volume yesterday and today has finally been slow enough that we have time between calls and aren't 100% providing backup support to other areas. Temperature-wise, though, our apartment continues to be 7 to 10 degress warmer in Fahrenheit than I would like, so I may need to check our A/C vents for clogging. (When I bother to wear a shirt, I'm always wearing breathable sports attire.) After work, I crashed on the uncovered bed in the bedroom for a couple hours, and I then reheated the last of the cheeseburger soup for dinner. I finished the Dawntrail patch download while catching up on the latest Peris in Paradise updates in Hearthstone, and the cats sent me on frequent trips to the kitchen for treats. I've got big plans for cleaning the apartment tomorrow, including laundering bedding, doing dishes, and vacuuming before Julie's return just after midnight tomorrow night. For now, I'm going to further invert my sleep schedule to align better with the expansion release on Friday morning around 4 AM Eastern.

2023

Monday: I liked how slow it was! Julie's getting frustrated that we have no news about when the new shift bid is. Preliminary word from leadership is that it had been scheduled for June, but the restructuring meant they had to push it back. There was supposed to serious stormy weather today, so on my lunch break I took the umbrella out of its stand outside so that it wouldn't blow away or get bent. For dinner, I had a bunch more of the orzo, and after Julie went to bed, I played more Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to celebrate all the progress I've been making on IF over the weekend. I completed the fire temple before hitting up a bunch of mines and lightroots in the depths along the eastern edge of the map.
