Friday: the calls were bad, I scrounged together chicken sandwiches despite being out of cheese, I got an email that suggests I don't actually have Tuesday off like I'd hoped, I had leftover stew. Let's move on.
The "RIF Is Fun" app stopped working tonight. I knew it was coming, but I didn't get around to reviewing the links and comments I'd saved in the app before the end. Maybe I'm confusing it with the Reddit Enhancement Suite and that saved data is still on my reddit account. I'm too restless to check.
Half a year ago, losing my phone felt like a minor catastrophe, but in replacing it, I found my new phone to be the device I rely on the most. More than my laptop; more than any game console. RIF was a big part of my routine. Only accessing reddit through a browser will require an adjustment that I still don't really want to make. Anyway.
First half of 2023 round-up
I can't believe the year's halfway over! We're actually into the summer months?? It doesn't feel real.
It's been a conflicted six months. I have no real regrets about the things I've spent my efforts on, but I need to get myself out of the insomnia phase I've fallen back into. Going to try setting an alarm for 11:00 PM and spending my last hour of each day writing an update: it's the only way to capture what the day was actually like. Too much reconstruction of the day's events after the fact loses accuracy.
My priorities for the months to come go something like this:
1. This interactive fiction project I've been working on.
2. A second interactive fiction project that's now a year overdue, assuming I can find an audio file transcription service that fits in my price range.
3. A third interactive fiction project I've been neglecting! Gosh.
4. Getting through these boxes I've been neglecting in the living room and office.
5. Finish up these videogames I've been fiddling with. (Tears of the Kingdom, Final Fantasy XIV...) I'm putting this low, but realistically I'm probably going to do these before any of my other objectives.
I guess this is something to review on New Year's Eve, or maybe at the end of September? We'll see how I do.

Last weekend was when Kato brough a live rabbit into the house. Once the rabbit got loose, we managed to corner it in the kitchen so that I could catch it and release it under the enormous pumpkin patch in the backyard. This is just one of very many reasons I no longer have outdoor cats.
