Tuesday: slipped up by playing around with Ren'Py last night and didn't get to bed until 2 AM. This morning, I was dreaming about dating Julie while trying to drive us places: I would have liked to figure out what was going on there, but I slept too late and had to get out of bed at ten til 7. After posting these consciousness timestamps, I logged right into work to deal with my groups backlog, and I spent the first hour and a half finishing up the last of my reworks from last week. This week could be comparably challenging, as the Recon team had a system issue that's going to cause us a bottleneck that needs to be addressed by Friday. I'm expecting tomorrow or Thursday to be a day I put in some additional extra hours.
Salary woes notwithstanding, it was a pretty good day. Watched some "Woolie Vs Ace Attorney 2" vods for the final case on my breaks. Seems like all our deliveries were happening simultaneously: my new work headset, a replacement phone case, a new rug scraper, a new phone charger for the cruise, plus some random stuff for one of the girls in our building that was sent to our place by mistake. Probably would have made more progress on work if I hadn't found my enthusiasm sapped by the number of HQ groups I had to get through.
Julie texted to let me know her boss was in the office, so they'd probably be going to dinner in the evening. As that meant no Karly Moon Quizzo tonight, she encouraged me to hit up Subway. I took the subway to the Subway right when I got out of work, and I played some Chef Druid on the Standard ladder while I ate. Walked back to the apartment afterward, which afforded me the opportunity to check out the store that's going into the old Walgreens location on Broad. The fixtures are going in, and they've started their hiring process, but no signage indicated how soon they'd open.
Julie was back when I got home, and we caught each other up on her days. She's still playing Tomodachi Life, in which her versions of Angel and John just had a child (Juan). I treated the cats, tried out the new headset, and prepared the updates for today and yesterday. Considering whether I want to pick up The Incident at Galley House tonight, or whether to hold off for now. I might do it.
Monday: for Stogie Joe's trivia, I wanted us to leave a little earlier so we wouldn't have to wait, but things didn't quite line up that well. The place was still packed, and we missed our window to get seated at the bar by mere moments. We did eventually get seated in the main dining room, and while we came in third place, we avoided having to do a tiebreaker.
Sunday: another typical work shift, after which Julie made minute steaks with green beans and corn on the cob. We watched more Resident Alien, getting into the second season. Real sleepy today.
Friday: when eating at home, we're never at a table. We don't even have one at this apartment; at our last place, it was too covered in unfiled paperwork and shopping bags full of home goods. I usually eat while at my desk during the workday, or I'll join Julie in the living room and sit on the floor against the sofa. I like this arrangement! Soups feel precarious, though. I've never had a major spill, but my nerves sing a song of terror when I have to chart a path down a long hallway with cats underfoot while I grip an overfull bowl between oven mitts. Today, it was breakfast cereal before my shift and more taco soup afterward. Tonight, I mostly just played Hearthstone to wrap up some unfinished quests. I'm hoping to play one of Her Story, Telling Lies, or Immortality with Julie tomorrow, so I'm going to see about hooking my new computer up to some actual speakers.
Thursday: on-the-job training continues at work.

Sunday: we made it down to Rogers, Arkansas, and stopped in at the Rogers Aquatics Center, which was a very pleasant water park. In the evening, we went to the Walmart Amp Theater to see Hootie & The Blowfish: Group Therapy Tour, with Barenaked Ladies as the opener. We were on the hillside with a packing blanket for a seat, but I was dismayed to discover tha the concessions they were selling had expired and were no good.

Saturday: in the evening, we flew out to Michigan again.

Whoever said that w/ the new security rules you had to get to the Wichita airport 2 hrs early obv never flew out on a Sat afternoon.
I hate flying through Chicago. There is always some problem.
