Today is my dad's birthday!
Sunday: Julie made toasted cheese sandwiches for lunch, which we followed with a trip to the gym. (I spent the time reading Club Floyd transcripts while I cycled.) After we got home, I called Dad to hear how his birthday was going, but we didn't have a very good phone connection. Might be time to try a video call again?
For dinner, I'd found a recipe for caldo verde I wanted to try, but I forgot to buy kale. Julie found some chopped spinach in th freezer, so I didn't have to sacrifice my salad greens for the soup. Since the Asian grocer was too far out of our way, I just sliced up a pepperoni-like sausage instead of using the Korean pre-cooked sausage th recipe recommended. I was a little doubtful how well this would all come together thanks to our substitions, but we were both happy with how it turned out.
We played a couple more games of Civ, but none of them were noteworthy. Once Julie went to bed, I got distracted by a Portal 2 reaction video and stayed up too late again.

Tonight I tried to play Silent Hill 3 after dark, and it really scared me. I don't like playing horror games, even though I'm invested in the Silent Hill franchise.
