Monday: after my usual workday of trade sanctions and commission scrub reworks sandwiched by 3.5 hours of calls, we got dressed for our first day of trivia in a while. The bar looked packed as we approached, but our usual two-seater by the garage door was open, and they seated us just after we walked in. Since I'd had the second half of my salad for lunch today, we decided to switch up our dinner plan: Julie ordered buffalo wings, while I went with the pepperoni and cheese stromboli again. With the garage door open, the weather was perfect, but our performance could have been better. Lots of questions about the summer Olympics and international affairs, and for some reason I picked Brisbane over Canberra as the capital of Australia, and I misidentified Over the Hedge as The Neighborhood. We were pretty consistently in the "seven questions right" range. People complained that he'd been supplying too many male artists for the music round, so tonight all ten songs were by female artists. We got seven right (again) and did not place.
Back home, I think I need to do the dishes. The trash in the office is starting to smell, but tomorrow's trash day, at least.
IS THE COUGH STILL HERE? YES: it's a rattle or flutter in my chest if I inhale too deeply at the wrong time. I never need facial tissue for my nose anymore, but I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm over the cold.
Saturday: I followed through on my threat to work on the FFXIV Moonfire Faire jumping puzzle last night, and I stayed up way too late to do it. We had a good time, though: one new player at the top of the tower was also stuck in a long queue (Coils of Bahamut, first instance), so a bunch of us took a break from falling off the tower to queue up and complete it with him. We commiserated about how hard the climb was, and I wound up adding a bunch of folks to my friends list.
This morning, Julie met up with a friend at the Asian market for a bite of brunch. Upon her return, I suggested we go to Rocco's Sausages for lunch, though we didn't realize it was nothing more than a kitchen counter attached to the front of The Home Depot. I took my sausage sandwich and Julie took her buffalo chicken sandwich and we ate in the car. Very tasty, despite the dining circumstances! We went back into the store for a deck scrubber to use on the basement; we made additional stops for shop vac accessories and our usual shopping run. We decided to hold off on the actual basement cleanup until Sunday. We finished the fried rice for dinner, watched more Futurama, and played a game of Civ VI. (Julie won a diplomatic victory as Alexander. I spent the first six or seven turns just looking for a coast to land on and settle my first city.)
I was planning to do more jumping puzzles after Julie went to bed, but I just wound up watching more FFXIV reaction videos instead. I fell asleep in the living room.

Wednesday: thought I lost my wallet at Arby's, but I think it turned out to be in the car. In the evening, I was asleep on the sofa with Angel on sleeping on my chest. Three hours later... I was in Kansas City? Is this timeline correct?

Saturday: both I and my cousin Derek are about to go off to college, so today our extended family organized a going-away party. I have no recollection of this whatsoever, but my journal entry from August 20 specified this was the date.
