Tuesday: I was able to do some decent catch-up on my projects and follow-ups. The cats had completely depleted their treats, though, so on my lunch break, I walked over to Acme and picked up more. Once I got back, I was able to eat my leftover sandwich before my lunch hour ended. On my second break, I noticed that the Sid Meier's Civilization VII gameplay showcase was going to be happening today, so Julie and I watched it after we were both done with work. This time around, civilizations will only be available during certain ages. (The Age of Antiquity, the Age of Exploration, and the Age of Modernity, I think?) This way, they don't have to balance eary-game civs with late-game civs, which might mean that my preference to pick my starting civ at random may be less of a difficulty mulitiplier in the future. Julie had prepared a very thick cabbage stew in the pressure cooker, but before we could eat, I had to gather the litter, while she took out the rest of the trash.
Sunday: Julie invited me to "read my stories" on the front porch, and I spent the time catching up on Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp while she scrolled her pages of interest. The temperature felt perfect, so despite our intent to save money this weekend, we elected to find someplace for lunch. After cross-referencing a recent Philly restaurants recommendations thread with Google Maps, we elected to walk to either The Dutch or Fountain Porter. The wait at the former seemed too long, so we continued our walk to the latter. Fountain Porter turned out to be more of a bar than a restaurant, but their burgers ensured we had no regrets. Julie stuck with a sour while she ate, while I tried a cider. It wasn't bad.
On our way back, we sat at the actual fountain at Tasker and Passyunk to continue our conversation and enjoy the weather, but it was starting to heat up and the sun was directly on our faces. I joked about how I now understood why the zailors in Sunless Sea go mad when exposed to sunlight. After snapping some photos, we continued home, where we soon started some additional cleaning. We both had laundry to get through, and I started reorganizing the office to make it easier to switch between my work laptop and my new computer. I also put more of my clothes in the closet (stacked on top of the plastic drawers rather than solely inside them) and took some time to pair up all my socks... though admittedly this latter effort was also an excuse to watch the latter portion of this Endwalker finale stream that I'd gotten really invested in.
Julie pointed out it was getting late, so I made a pasta soup for dinner. The vegetable-chopping (zucchini, squash, and grated carrots) made this a lengthier process than I would have liked, but the soup came out well, once I finally finished it. We watched a bit more Futurama, and I tried to get to bed at a reasonable time.

I played Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 today. (Of all the DotP games, I think I liked the decks in this one the best.)

This was one of the points when I was bored and antsy and dissatisfied with how unproductive I've been, but I was too bored and antsy to do actual work, so I just made more plans which I wouldn't adhere to. My livejournal update today also confirms I'm splitting my time between work and school.

Sunday: my journal confirms I'm at McCollum Hall in KU, room 818. The phone number was 312-2631. I spent the day with this guy I worked with, Ashley, who showed me around town. I also posted a bunch of other updates from earlier this week and this summer, but I'm going to be putting those on their appropriate days.
