Saturday: my late night on Thursay came home to roost this morning, as I spent most of my workday in a state of distraction. Still managed to get through the most urgent trade sanctions requests, and I'm a little ahead of the game on my other projects, but it took me longer than normal to get through a trio of training modules. Had the first half of my salad for lunch. Julie went to the gym without me, but once she was back and my shift ended, I started making the scalloped potatoes for dinner. While John spent the time napping in a shopping bag on the floor, Orange Juice felt I should be throwing toy mice down the hallway instead of cooking. To minimize prep time, I used the food processor to slice the potatoes and onion, and I used up the rest of the heavy cream from last week's recipe to make part of the white sauce. We had andouille sausage again this time, and I put all the ingredients in single layers rather than two layers each. I spent the first 30 minutes of the bake time washing the dishes I'd just made, though I still had to take frequent breaks to grab a toy mouse with my foot and throw it into the hallway for Juice.
Dishes done, I hung out with the cats in the living room while Julie we waited for dinner to finish baking. Watched more Venture Bros. while we ate, but I didn't feel up to playing Civ at the same time; I had to finish a couple of quests in Hearthstone, and I wanted to dip into Vampire Survivors a little bit, too. Other than posting this update and maybe playing a stage or two of Tactical Breach Wizards, that's going to be it for this evening.
Thursday: after a drowsy morning, I picked up lunch from Newbold Cafe. After I finished eating, I got to the store for my supplies this week. We finished the chili for dinner, watched all the new Futurama that's available, and based on neither of us wanting to get up and find the remote, we wound up watching some early Rick and Morty. Over on Tumblr, everybody's furious about a Netflix sponsorship that plastered that pirate anime all over the front page (even for ad-free subscribers), which is pretty ironic since Netflix is notorious for canceling shows after one season, while that pirate anime is best known for being really, really long. On the plus side, ad-blocking tools are effective with only a few configuration tweaks.

Monday: over on facebook, I updated my cover photo: it's four of our cats. From the left, we have John Doe, Koop (on the chair in back), Isabel (in front), and Frank. Mosaic was in the other room, and it is not clear whether we'd brough Mim and her kittens into the house at this point.

Monday: according to a post Mom made on facebook, over the weekend, Julie and I filled in some missing spots at Scottish Country Dance, and we also went sailing with Dad.
