2024

Monday: I'm off of work because of Labor Day! We had our respective breakfasts so that we could go to the gym before they closed at noon. (Getting kind of tired of Apple Jacks, but I just don't have cereal very frequently, these days.) After we got home and cleaned up, Julie made eggs and big floppy slices of thick bacon for lunch. With our whole day ahead of us, I suggested we watch one of the movies that Julie's never seen which keep reentering the discourse. None of our streaming platforms had Good Will Hunting, so we watched My Cousin Vinny instead. We followed the movie up with a little bit of napping in the living room, after which we walked to Stogie Joe's for Quizzo. The place was packed, but we got our preferred high top, and the garage door was open, making it easy to walk around to hand in answer sheets. Julie wasn't interested in wings this week, so we had another round of Caesar salad and pizza. The questions were tough this week, with most teams getting around 6 questions right each round. It ended up being our second week in a row in last place, but we also had our second week in a row of consolation ice cream. (Another swirl in a medium cup.) Back home, I treated the cats with tuna, caught up on my Hearthstone quests, and then came in here to post this and play a little bit of The War Within.

2023

Saturday: my work shift didn't permit as much time for my weekly project as I'd hoped due to the complexity of my support requests. Julie made onion pasta for dinner, and we played a moderately successful Civ VI game while watching more R&M. The comfortable weather's supposed to heat up again, so we closed up all the windows and turned the air back on. I tried a different variety of hummus than I usually get, but I wasn't happy with the result. I focused on just eating carrots and the other charcuterie snacks we still had in the fridge instead. Spent a bunch more time in FFXIV, where I finally got my Dancer job to 90 and unlocked the rest of the NieR-series raids.
